inspiration behind the song, from an interview. The taxi driver had told us she used to be a long haul delivery driver and then went into a lot of personal details. She would take cocaine and crystal meth to stay awake so that she could drive all across the states on just one go. Then, one day, she overdid it and took too much meth and blacked out. Later, she found herself waking up one day suddenly in a strip club. She looked up and asked one of the strippers dancing what state she was in and what date it was. Turns out a whole month had gone by. She was no longer in the right state and had completely loss her truck. That whole month went by with zero recollection of what happened but she had this deep haunting feeling that she had done something terribly wrong, maybe even murder.

101 people didn‘t get violent in the summer silence. Update: Use this as lyrics comment. [Verse 1] In the summer, took my gun And made him go to Neverland He was something, my old husband He had all you'd ever want Did you say something? What'd you say? Was that your voice or was that me? Little voices buzzing poison Backward noise from everything Dr. Swango says I'm psycho Says they all from Neverland They'll never ever let me be Was that your voice or was that me? [Instrumental Break] [Verse 2] Dirty Dustin, said he saw him Playing ball with Dizzy Jim Dizzy Jim had never spoken Whispered back, "You murdered him" My heart strings broke and it was me I pull, they stretch infinitely [Chorus] In the summer silence, I was getting violent In the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violent In the summer silence, I was doing nothing [Bridge] Play with me, my love, in the summer sun I'll be waiting in your favourite Cheshire grin Lay with me, my dear, in the evening clear I'll be dreaming in my paper-pale skin [Chorus] In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing [Outro] In the summer silence, in the summer silence In the summer silence, I was doing nothing

On the original video, someone made a comment about this song being about a 1950s housewife poisoning people who she disliked with cherry pie or other bakes and reading their obituaries with a smile the next day. It led through her eventual decrease into insanity until she attempts to kill her young son and realises what she's done. It was so well written and I'm not sure if the comment is still there but it's all I think of when I listen to this song and it's just so damn good.

The vibe I get from this song is a group of friends decide to take a walk to the woods at night. But at some point they discover something they shouldn’t have found. It makes one of them go insane and kill one of the other kids. But after the kid is killed, the other returns to normal. The rest of the group had already fled, but the one that killed the other remains, and this is the song that plays in their head after they calm down.

@cloudydayz66944 жыл бұрын
Sounds about right honestly that or multiple personalities disorder
@pigeonsr4 жыл бұрын
First of all Cloudy, "multiple personalities disorder" is an outdated term, it's referred to as DID or dissociative identity disorder now. Secondly, please for the love of god stop trying to relate any song with a dangerous or creepy undertone to some kind of mental illness you clearly lack any form of knowledge on. It portrays the illness in a bad light and can possibly mislead people. Just because the song references hearing voices does *not* = schizophrenia. Schizophrenia often times is much more complex than hearing voices and at times doesn't even include auditory hallucinations, especially voices. Mental illness isn't some quirky thing you should all slap onto a song title. It's not even what the intended story the writers were trying to convey here.
