inspiration behind the song, from an interview. The taxi driver had told us she used to be a long haul delivery driver and then went into a lot of personal details. She would take cocaine and crystal meth to stay awake so that she could drive all across the states on just one go. Then, one day, she overdid it and took too much meth and blacked out. Later, she found herself waking up one day suddenly in a strip club. She looked up and asked one of the strippers dancing what state she was in and what date it was. Turns out a whole month had gone by. She was no longer in the right state and had completely loss her truck. That whole month went by with zero recollection of what happened but she had this deep haunting feeling that she had done something terribly wrong, maybe even murder.

There’s not a word for this in English, but it’s that feeling when you do something like listening to this video, or going to a concert. And its a feeling in your chest, it’s feels the same way emotional pain does like in terms of it’s heaviness, but it’s not pain. It’s this sensual mix of anger and flow. Uhh I’m high, disregard this comment I just realized how ridiculously at was getting

On the original video, someone made a comment about this song being about a 1950s housewife poisoning people who she disliked with cherry pie or other bakes and reading their obituaries with a smile the next day. It led through her eventual decrease into insanity until she attempts to kill her young son and realises what she's done. It was so well written and I'm not sure if the comment is still there but it's all I think of when I listen to this song and it's just so damn good.

101 people didn‘t get violent in the summer silence. Update: Use this as lyrics comment. [Verse 1] In the summer, took my gun And made him go to Neverland He was something, my old husband He had all you'd ever want Did you say something? What'd you say? Was that your voice or was that me? Little voices buzzing poison Backward noise from everything Dr. Swango says I'm psycho Says they all from Neverland They'll never ever let me be Was that your voice or was that me? [Instrumental Break] [Verse 2] Dirty Dustin, said he saw him Playing ball with Dizzy Jim Dizzy Jim had never spoken Whispered back, "You murdered him" My heart strings broke and it was me I pull, they stretch infinitely [Chorus] In the summer silence, I was getting violent In the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violent In the summer silence, I was doing nothing [Bridge] Play with me, my love, in the summer sun I'll be waiting in your favourite Cheshire grin Lay with me, my dear, in the evening clear I'll be dreaming in my paper-pale skin [Chorus] In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing In the summer silence, I was getting violentIn the summer silence, I was doing nothing [Outro] In the summer silence, in the summer silence In the summer silence, I was doing nothing

Sounds about right honestly that or multiple personalities disorder
@pigeonsr
@pigeonsr 4 жыл бұрын
First of all Cloudy, "multiple personalities disorder" is an outdated term, it's referred to as DID or dissociative identity disorder now. Secondly, please for the love of god stop trying to relate any song with a dangerous or creepy undertone to some kind of mental illness you clearly lack any form of knowledge on. It portrays the illness in a bad light and can possibly mislead people. Just because the song references hearing voices does *not* = schizophrenia. Schizophrenia often times is much more complex than hearing voices and at times doesn't even include auditory hallucinations, especially voices. Mental illness isn't some quirky thing you should all slap onto a song title. It's not even what the intended story the writers were trying to convey here.

I caught that too. The things about voices and how his personality changes so rapidly. Good to see someone else saw it too :)

Having actually gotten into this song, this remix of it is absolutely insane and is just a perfect example of how to improve a song beyond amazing. Honestly easily one of the best remixes I’ve heard of all time, the buildup and release at the end is nothing short of just incredible.

*thought of a show while listening to this: it's a little half assed, bear with me* Every three years, during summer, somewhere in Texas a supposed serial killer starts a murder spree once again, only to fizzle out whenever summer ends. No matter how many times police have tried to sniff out the culprit, no traces have been left, no suspects have been found guilty. The movie takes place in the point of view of a young boy, in his mid to late teens. He's not too phased by these mysterious, yearly murders, but is not unaffected by them. One fateful afternoon, his parents are slaughtered, by what can only be explained by the mystery killer of Texas. From then on, he takes it upon himself to find the culprit, and thus he starts searching, visiting crime scenes, taking every single piece of evidence he can find. Yet in the end it is revealed, that he is the killer, his memories of committing homicide somehow disappear when the day ends, and has no recollection of it after summer ends. Horrified by his own actions, he turns himself in. While in jail, his strange murdering habits stops. He is free from jail after years, during summer. Though unnerved by the specific season, he goes back to his hometown, only to see it empty, abandoned in a wreckage. Apparently another slaughter had broken out; perhaps he didn't commit the crimes after all? He goes out of his way to investigate once more, discovering the fact that this murder cycle in texas has been a thing since a very, very long time ago. He somehow breaks this strange curse and all things seem normal. But later on its revealed, he was the only murderer Texas ever had, the boy went insane after discovering his own crimes back then, and is now in a mental asylum, he hallucinated all of the events that had taken place after he discovered his murderous habit. Thus the show ends on a bitter note.

Oohh okay, that's really good, I'm gonna build on that, I think that it would be a lady, committing these murders, and then ends up accidentally murdering her husband and then someone saw her and she slowly begins to break down and then she's arrested and then she goes even further insane, in which, she's stuck in an endless summer where her Cheshire grin and paper pale skin never change, and her husband is just out of reach, in the empty summer meadow/field, that is in her mind.

Oh my god I love this idea, it's so mysterious sounding, like theres some entity that can control the boy from behind the scenes and we never get to fully understand or see it, like a haunting presence. At least, that's how I interpreted it anyways

Hi, sorry, really weird but- I kinda zoned out with dreams?? That's not the weird part because it's 4:21 over here rn! So I basically passed out and dreamed I was floating in a void and my whole body was shades of bright light yellow and suddenly my hair was long?? Like to my ankles. So, I was curled up, floating in this purple/black galaxy void crying and indiscernible music was playing around me?? That's the vibe this song gave me when I relistened to it.

There were birds chirping around the place as they did all the summer, but I couldn't hear them. I couldn't hear anything. No, not anything, there was a voice. It's strange, I can't recall who it was but it was as familiar as the cold breeze in a winter morning. The distant whisper was faded, faint, but inside of my head at the same time. It told me to open my eyes. And there he was. Or it. His face all mangled, couldn't be recognized by his own mother, rested on the dirty floor of that cranked up apartment. The body was somewhere else, but I couldn't remember where. "Lay with me, my dear" the whisper said. Shivers ran through my spine. His face moved, vaguely resembling what a smile could've been if he wasn't in such a poor state. A smile that lured me into obeying. Ignoring the blood and trying my very best not to vomit there and then, I sat on the floor at the bloody face's side. And I did nothing. My hands were full of red but I just sat there and watched the hours go. That strangely familiar voice kept on telling me things I knew and things to do, but I just sat there, letting day and night take the summer away. No chirping of the birds, not anymore, just the silence of summer's heat waves. The song inspired me to write this, I hope you liked it, and if you got this far, thank you very much :)
