Danni, thank you, thank you!! I was so excited to learn from your expertise about Carnival glass. Growing up, into adulthood, my precious Dad got me started going to garage sales, flea markets, etc. He had grown up in the Depression, and I loved the depression glass my grandmother had. When we found it while out shopping, I learned so much about it and collected it. Now I feel I have a base to buy Carnival glass thanks to your lesson!😃

I absolutely love antique and vintage glass! Fenton's glass was hand blown into a mold. There is a video on YT that shows the process that Fenton used when making glass pieces.

I was fortunate to take a tour of the factory several times before they closed. They hand blowed glass into the molds. They put the crimps on by hand, and the handles on baskets were done by hand.

The plate at 12:15 is identified as Northwood on Worthpoint, but this is the only example I could find. The description calls it a whimsy! It is remarkably similar to Northwood "Grape and Cable" and "Wild Strawberry" just without the decoration in the middle. I loved watching this video. I have been collecting all types of glass for years. But I saw where a few of your Carnival glass pieces appeared to be not as old, or knock offs. The original older carnival glass pieces did not have the iridescent glaze on the bottom of the pieces. This was applied on the later pieces and has been found on fake rarer pieces intended to trick someone into buying. I love Dave Doty's Carnival Glass web. Thank you for listing your glass ware.

Hi Danni, I’m not a reseller but I watch a lot of resellers on KZbin because It’s an additional way to learn new things. I want to compliment you on the way you educate others. Your knowledge and intelligence comes through, but at the same time you make things easy to understand, and it’s clear you really want others to be successful. I have a beautiful collection of French glass/crystal including, Sabino, Lalique,, Galle and, Daum Nancy, which I know a lot about and will never sell. Last year at an auction I purchased a large box lot of carnival glass for $20. I had limited knowledge about the items but you have really inspired me to pull the box out and identify what I have😀. Thanks for all you do!

We live in a country home with a dark brick mantel that really brightens up the brick wall . I have a problem knowing the difference between milk glass and white ceramics. I need to ask you a question, how would I know if I find a cloisonne piece?
@FlaNative34 жыл бұрын
Google images of cloisonné - it’s unique and looks nothing like carnival glass. Cloisonné is frequently on smaller pieces like jewelry or trinket dishes as a cloisonné vase would be quite heavy.
@TheNICHELady4 жыл бұрын
Cloisonne is enamel or glass separated by little strips of wire usually brass. It has a very distinct look!
@Steph-sk2nb4 жыл бұрын
Question: When a listing automatically renews, does that count as a new listing, a new listing that would help the algorithm?
@FlaNative34 жыл бұрын
No, it does not. However, if you want to make changes to a listing, if you “End” the listing, then Sell Similar with the changes, that would count as a brand new listing.
@TheNICHELady4 жыл бұрын
Keeping the House is correct but I just want to add - I never spend time ending and selling similar - I list list list and new listings drive traffic to older listings. I do put things on mark down sales as they age in my inventory as well.
@FlaNative34 жыл бұрын
The NICHE Lady Yes unless you are new to reselling, your early listings are terrible & your stuff hasn’t sold! Only last year, after a year & a half, I decided on a static format for all listings using templates (thank you LIndey Glenn!!). Now listing is faster - I upgraded my store subscription last year. I’m a substitute teacher, so when I can’t get to new listings, I look at my oldest listings & may End & Sell Similar to update to the new static format. It will count as “being active”. It seems to be working - many of my older items have sold!! I started a JUST REDUCED category but not much has happened yet. 🤷🏻♀️
@FlaNative34 жыл бұрын
The NICHE Lady Just had to add that I was going to start a clearance process like yours (I did, sort of) but then I was called in for a long term sub assignment. It’s been crazy, busy and confusing. I come home so exhausted that most of my eBay plans are on hold (still listing just not 10/day - more like 2-3). Things are still selling including many older items. I was pricing at the low end and only just started doing as you suggest in your videos. Being active every day seems to be the key, followed by price and quality of listing (which includes photos). I would like eBay to someday replace subbing - we’ll see what happens. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INFO - so so so helpful and fun!! Your menagerie is pretty amusing & it’s heartwarming to see you interacting with your children and Mom.
