@glasscastresin hi , rather then square/rectangle bar top , I would be cutting wood like a pear shape ..if that makes sense

@@IanRenton-k4d Do you mean routering the edges to give a curved profile? In which case yes, you can either make the top as per the video, then router in the edge profile. Or if you cut the profile first you may need to work out a way to tape the edge to keep the resin in place on the top surface, then use a brush application of resin on the edges once the top has cured.

The GlassCast 3 is suitable for up to 50C. We would recommend using coasters or placemats for hot drinks etc to prevent marking the resin.

how well dose the resin adhere to metal. I have a project I would like to try using small pieces of painted metal. it would also be up to 30mm thick. is your glass finish good for that thickness?

The resin will bond to metal, to do so you will need to give it a really good key with a course abrasive 120g or more and then degrease the surface to ensure it is free from contamination.

The smoked glass look is really dope, is it a food grade product though?

Thanks, we think so too. Whilst the GlassCast doesn't have any specific food grade certification, once cured it effectively becomes like any other inert plastic. We wouldn't recommend it for food preparation but light/occasional contact should be fine.

Hi…..I noticed there are some notches cut out at either end to accommodate the metal structure. Are these cut before the pour or after the bar is finished? Great presentation.

Hi Wayne, they were cut out afterwards using a holesaw (for the circular cut) and jigsaw for the straight cuts using a very fine toothed blade. It needed little more than a quick polish to dress the cut edge.
