GLASS MontgomeryKONE Hydraulic Elevator @ JCPenney, Palisades Center, West Nyack, NY

Installed 1998. This is one of the nicest elevators in the mall. Unfortunately it's supposed to close July 2017.

It was my favorite elevator even though never been to that location before. This elevator will truly be missed and so will the escalators

It's to bad this store closed. This was one of the nicer JCPenneys I've been to. Plus it's rare to see a glass elevator in a JCPenney

Yeah, this store now appears to be forever gone. I remember walking around Palisades mall back in the fall of 2017 listening to 'Now! 64' & I saw some walls blocking the all the entrances to this store on the first 3 floors of the mall. Then I went into the parking basement to check the parking garage entrance & the door wasn't blocked, but the lights were off & the escalators may have been turned off. Then I checked the main entrance in front of the mall & the store was empty. So this department store is gone for good. Even though this is one of the biggest stores in the mall. A lot of stores nowadays are closing down. It 's a good thing I got to be on this before this door was taken away, since the first time I went here, I didn't go on this, as I instead went on the escalators.

This one has the star on the button for the main floor. They don't usually do this, however.

Darn it, I wanted to ride this. I am trying to get to a lot of shopping malls for this very reason of all the retailers closing stores. Anyway this is a really nice elevator.

Yeah this elevator is really cool. You don't get to see glass elevators in the middle of department stores all the time.

TXMN Elevators Oh yes they are. This year they are opening a new store at Millcreek Mall in Erie, Pa. And in 2015, they opened their first New England location at Westfield Meriden in the former JCPenney space.

It was actually installed in late 1997 because the mall opened I believe on March 10, 1998. Also, there used to be a 2 level jcpenney home store on the 2nd and 3rd floors above BB&B and below B&N. I don't really remember the elevator all that well, I think it was one of those Montgomery KONE's like Lord & Taylor KoP has but I'm not 100% sure because it closed c. 2001
