Very nice. Professional lam. Like that color. What did you start with? One of the yellows with a little black or green? Nice the way the added color collects in the channels. Some guys do a similar effect with paint/ air brush. I like the resin effect better. Lowel

Thanks Lowel. Started with yellow and added orange, green and red in small amounts to get to this. In the pot it looked brown. Yeah with translucent tints they will always show darker in the channels as impossible to get it all out without creating air underneath. Glad you enjoyed. Will be doing more videos soon!

Very good looking forward to more. You know what you’re doing. Having done a few myself and seen many done in a couple of the best glass shops on the West Coast I knew you had a high skill lever and would be worth a watch. I have experimented with mixing colors a bit. My idea is always that if you don’t like it when you stir it in the pot or after a test on a scrap of cloth; catalyze it and dump it. Mahalo

I enjoy your performance longboard designs. Do you build a Bonzer style longboard?
@electrofishsurfboards17 күн бұрын
Thanks. I havent shaped any bonzers yet but it's on the list. An outline could probably be stretched to 9'0 wouldn't want to go any longer though. If your interested could get something shaped. Let me know. Cheers

Gary Hanel thru Moonlight glassing makes a fine bonzer longboard, I've got one and my buddy rode it and ordered one for himself, we're both very pleased. GH a bonzer specialist

Great work. Got a question. When you flip the laps where the channels are how tight are you pulling them ? Or just folding them over just enough so the glass stays in the channels ?
@electrofishsurfboards16 күн бұрын
Thanks. So as I start folding the laps in the last 1/3 of board I have to use one hand to hold the top of the rail so it doesn't pull the glass up in channels and create gaps. This way you can pull laps tight without pulling glass out channels. If you do get gaps you can then carefully work glass back with squeegee from rail to stringer.

@@electrofishsurfboards - Yes I saw the hold the top of the rail trick and that is what I will do on my next channel project. Thanks !!!!!

@ehbuggah1 no prob. Most important thing is making sure the glass is sitting perfectly in the channels before resin. If its a clear lam kick a small batch first and do the channels then lam the rest with another batch

Hey what's the small nick move you do with the wings at the very very end?
@electrofishsurfboards16 күн бұрын
When the wings are folded there's a small gap. So I add a small strip of glass on each side to make sure everything is covered. Doesn't matter too much what it looks like aslong as no bubbles as it all gets sanded back before deck lam. Thanks for watching!
