@ironandzinc10 ай бұрын
@Jazzlobber I know that this flyer is in a folder with a ton of other flyers I had on my wall which is packed away in a box in my basement (or in my parents house in a box of my old stuff).. I think if I find an old photo of my old bedroom I can probably spot it.. I think they were playing with the movieLife . I do recall that Hot Water Music was playing around the same time at Brownies..

One of the most influential bands of the new millenia , their albums are still as energetic as it was when it came out, glassjaw is a mixture of the new aggresive post harcore sound and early 90s faith no more

Current lineup is inconsistent. Saw them at the anniversary shows and it was the best they had sounded since seeing the early lineup. Then saw them a couple weeks ago and they sounded awful. Not even 5 months apart.

@@DiamondLifer CAP. Glassjaw has never sounded awful live with any line up.
@DiamondLifer11 ай бұрын
@@Timeforceletsgo if you say so. I’ve been watching them live since 2000. Multiple times with all lineups. The show I went to last month was by far one of the worst sounding and phoned in performances from them. Half the place walked out before they even played the encore.

The dudes at the end of Her Middle Name Was Boom (around 32:30) sound like such idiots. I was getting really pissed at first but then it goes all quiet and you hear, "I'm having a wrestlemania party, come on over... if you're around" hahaha too funny

i think Daryl has said he doesnt really enjoy doing older material, lot to do with the lyrics he doesnt agree with anymore (he was an angry teen back then, hes a married man now) plus they just toured all of W+T and EYEWTKAS not long ago, and they have newer stuff they probably feel more inclined to jam out to instead of just doing what the fans wanna hear

Jubatera Sammy Sigler. He was hired last minute by GJ and Ross Robinson after Durijah Lang was let go. I don't know why Durijah was let go, but Sammy is a true hardcore legend

@@vaughnmild4467 Thanks! I'll check if he's playing in any band nowadays. He is really good!

@@vaughnmild4467, Sammy was in the band in 1998 when I saw them? Shannon Larkin was hired ( Godsmack Drummer) to record Worship & Tribute. I'm pretty sure Daryl and Beck got Sammy in the band. And I'm not trying to be a dick lol. I just remember seeing Sammy playing for them before Ross Robinson would have been involved with the band. 90 percent sure Lang came after Sammy and when Sammy took over Drums it was because Beck switched to Guitar after Kris Left. My first GJ show Beck was playing drums and the dude rips. I'm a drummer and Beck is a legit solid drummer. All around a musical Genius
@vaughnmild44674 жыл бұрын
@@thinkforyourself5672 Im sorry to disagree with you. You've either mistaken one drummer for another , or you're of on what year you saw them? Again, Sammy Sigler was was hired right before Ross Robinson had the band fire Durijah Lang literally before they headed out to Malibu CA (Indigo Ranch Studio) to start recording their 1st LP, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence. To my knowledge he never played shows w/GJ until after the LP was in the can? Sigler toured w/GJ for only a short while in 2000 b4 ex-Orange 9mm dummer, Larry Gorman was added as the bands new drummer. He was was only included on the demos on drums, but didn't play Worship & Tribute (Vocal harmonies only) due to ONLY knowing how to play to a metronome (click track). Robinson likes the whole "live vibe" in the studio and had recently produced Shannon Larkin on drums in his band at the time, Amen (Pre Godsmack, he was also in Ugly Kid Joe b4 that). In 98 it could of been the late GREAT, Stefan Linde (Sons of Abraham)? I know I've seen some live shit on yt with him behind the kit, and he may have even recorded a demo with GJ(Monster Zero??)? That was right b4 Beck started playing guitar full time w/glassjaw. You're lucky to have seen them at that time! Timelines on the dozen upon dozen of GJ shows I saw, as well as info available on the net makes this whole thing kind confusing. But if u check their bio, & videos circa 98-01 you'll see that Im correct. Again.. Sorry 2 disagree. They have had a TON of members. I've personally seen 6 different Bass players & 3 different drummers live. LoL

I'm kind of a Glassjaw geek...Been following them since right around the time of this show actually. Remember siberiankiss.com?? Lol they had the song up on there for fucking ever before the full length finally came out (May 9th 2000) Btw, I didn't google that. I was obsessed with this band during the AOL days. Yeah I've got problems haha
@BimTalch10 жыл бұрын
btbamdep haha dude I'm with you 100%. I actually first got into GJ around 2010 when the singles came out. and I fell HARD for this band. I can't believe I didn't listen to them earlier when I was in high school. I saw them twice since then, once at Skate n' Surf 2013 and once at Made In America 2014. I listen to alot of music and GJ is by far the best band I've ever heard. It's almost like they meticulously taylor their songs solely for my enjoyment.
@btbamdep10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm the same way man. I listen to so many different bands. It's insane. There's just something really unique about GJ's sound and plus they can write different types of songs within the genre, which not too many bands can pull off the way they can. But yea I've been fortunate enough to see em live a few days after EYEWTKAS came out so I've seen all the changes over the years. I've lost count how many times I've seen em at this point. Last time I saw em was March 2011. I'm pretty open minded so I'm not one of those haters that bitches about it. I just embraced it.
