crazy how this is now almost 10 years old. I got into Glassjaw right around when this was uploaded and 10 years before that point Worship and Tribute was still new.

Drummer is immense. People talking poo obviously can't appreciate drummers with solid tempo and don't resort to double peddle/sheer speed in order to put in a good performance. Decent cultural vibes in there too.
@chevin799 жыл бұрын
this times one billion. I read a comment that Larry is a better drummer. I haven't laughed that hard in weeks.
@JasonGjLFC9 жыл бұрын
They're both good for different reasons. Personal preference means I enjoy Durijah more but it's fine to like both for very different reasons!
@chevin799 жыл бұрын
You do realize that Larry never appeared on a Glassjaw recording right? Sammy played on EYEWTKAS and Shannon Larkin played on W/T. He was serviceable live, but that's about it.
@chevin799 жыл бұрын
MrVesanique I feel ya man. Everyone has their preferences.
@vaughnmild44675 жыл бұрын
@@chevin79 Sammy was a late fill in for Durijah who was fired for reasons nobody talks about? Similar situation with Larry Gorman. Ross Robinson likes the the whole band mic'd up in one room, no metronome. He wasn't used to that which I find odd cause he played on old Fountinhead and Orange 9mm EPs. Guess they played to a click on those classics too? Anyway Larry did backround vocals on W&T, and Ross had just did the Amen record, so they got Shannon Larkin. Continuing with the tread they had Billy from Dillinger Escape Plan on Material Control on all songs but Strange Hours which current touring drummer, Chad Hasty played on.

As I do agree that it's cool that they do everything DIY I do have to admit that I was there for this set and they definitely had the worst sound out of every other band that I watched that weekend. Great set regardless, but the quality of sound could have been mixed much better.

I have seen them 23 times and every single time it's been amazing. Every few years their live shows sound different and I love it. Wish they toured as much as they used to.

I perceive since reforming, they've traded some of their crazy unstable energy for more intricate composition and pushing the envelope a bit more as far as song-writing. Best direction for them to go in, in my opinion. We all get older and it's not as exciting seeing a few thirty somethings jumping around on stage only to exhaust themselves after 5 songs.

@Singsang1811 жыл бұрын
for all those bitching about quality, keep in mind this is recorded on a device not meant for quality recordings, and the fact that glassjaw has barely been a band for the past like, 10 years, with their last FULL LENGTH release being in 2002. They probably practiced only a few times before this show. That's how bands like that operate.

GJ play shows for all the oldheads that still like their music, myself included. It's not the 90's/early 00's anymore and they've accepted it. Play music for those who still come out to shows who just want to hear some old classics and new jams.
