100%, all that arrogant oasis-90's-mimicking is profoundly uninteresting. These kind of macho bands like AM and kasabian who somehow think they're the saviors of rock music just because they play guitars, when it's just another kind of commercialism that they have to sell as though it's 'oh so very rocknroll.' Throwing microphones at awards ceremonies and getting drunk in interviews just so all these kids fall for it from just a slightly different angle. Fucking wankers if you ask me. Rock music lost it's foundation after Nirvana died.

Spot on!!!!!!!! Serge and Tom are the ones who are deluded if they think themselves at the peak of British rock. Ezz eh and the likes are industrial pop fluff, there is no great guitar song on 48.13 to speak of and Serge is way out of his depth lyrically in comparison to other great rock albums.

This is just what Kasabian do though; every time they release a new album they say rock needs a kick up the arse or that they're going to 'revolutionise rock and roll' etc. Pointless sensationalism. That being said, not all rock needs to be counter-cultural and provocative. Yes, Kasabian's music is tasteless - he's absolutely right - but at no point did Kasabian say they were trying to be tasteful. Kasabian's music fits a purpose that's different to FWF's vision of what it should be, but that shouldn't discredit it.I like both bands but they sure as hell aren't on any of my playlists together.

i saw fat white family at the event in brixton. thought they were interesting and liked the gig. art wise. but kasabian, they tick all the right boxes for me. decent people. great strong song writing. Serge knows music and has diverse influences. fat white band are more the one trick pony... limited scope pure whatever.. Kasabian have a grander art that reaches people and their vibe is decent and pure just like fat white family. recently i was at the Liam Gallagher concert - fat white fam and Kasabian were both on the bill so fwf must have a more considered mm maybe a bit more grown up a bit. also sean lennon.. about as bland as it gets .. lol

If contemporary society proves anything it's that musicians with the most money/best marketing campaign will becone commercially successful no matter what...

What does being 'rebellious' mean? He must not understand what the term rebellious even means, huh. Kasabian are worlds ahead of other bands as far as being rebellious as they would never dare try to pull off some of the songs Kasabian has and still make them rock songs. Kasabian are innovators whether this kiddo likes it or not. What he ought to learn early in his career is you make more friends with honey than you do with vinegar, the ass that he is.
