I am delighted to stumble on this song after not hearing it for close to 40 years. I'd like to hear the English version of it as well if anyone is able to post it. Ach ba mhaith liom a ra bo bhfuil athas orm eisteacht leis an amhran seo as Gaielge comh maith.

Witnessed the genesis of this line-up of this brilliant band while a frequenter of the 95 club in Harcourt St.,Dublin in the late 60s. Great musicians like Brady and Moloney played for free and the Johnstone girls would come in after playing their pro gigs and do likewise. Great days,great harmonies, great singers,R.I.P. Adrienne.

Yes...I think Brady and Moloney were unpaid in those days ..the pair also played in 86 St Stephens Green at UCD ballad sessions...great nights.

from what i gather, this band was: Adrienne Johnstone - vocal Lucy Johnstone - vocal Mick Maloney - guitar, mandolin, vocal Paul Brady - guitar, mandolin, vocal YAY! cool recording!

What Album is this from? I would love a copy if it can be found still.

As far as I can make out on Discogs, it has only been released on 7" single in 1969. I am desperate for a copy of this song, in the Irish version, despite being English. I fell in love with it when listening to a Gaelic folk music show on the radio when I visited Ireland thirty odd years ago. I wish they would add it as a bonus track on a CD release!
