Glebe Tram Sheds

Located in Glebe, New South Wales, the sheds are the largest remaining tram depot in Sydney, and is one of five remaining tram depots in the state of New South Wales. It was the second largest tram depot to service the Sydney network, running at peak capacity of approximately 200 trams from 1918, until its closure in 1958. It was amongst the largest and most sophisticated public tramway systems in the world and was a major place of employment during its time of operation, employing up to 650 staff.
The depot contains six historic trams, some of which date back to the 1930s, as well as an old coach. Five of the trams belonging to the Sydney Tramway Society were originally acquired and stored in the shed as part of a now defunct plan by the City of Sydney council to introduce a new heritage tramway throughout the Rocks. One of the trams currently stored in the depot is tram: No. R1 1995, the last tram to operate on Sydney's original tram network.
On 10 December 2010 it was announced the entire site had peen purchased by Mirvac to be redeveloped for medium density housing. The future of the sheds and trams is especially unclear.

And the filmstrips of trots horses that they were going to be thrown away were supposed to be given to me, so i cud do something experimental, oh well sai la vie, boo bloody who and all that, its a nice place though, i thought of it like my secret garden ... i miss sydney an awful lot i do i do i do ...

It is the Glebe tram sheds in Sydney but half way through filming this the place was closed off to the public and I actually had to sneak in the last few times to get a couple of shots I needed. The closest street address is:LOT B Chapman Rd Annandale NSW 2038

There should be still the last Sydney tram (class R1 n. 1995). My hostel was very near there (Glebe Point Road) I took pics to the disco-buses parked near the Harold Park Paceway (stadium) in 2010 but I didn't know there was that depot....::::((((( Chow from Rome

@eponiaTTree yeah its pretty fucked the place was so run down and trashed when i was there i loved the time i spent there it was my escape from the city too a good place to just get away from sydney if you know what i mean and a few people i met but didn't video used this place during a tough time as well all the best mate
