Mike O'Malley was nominated for an Emmy for Best Guest Actor in the first season but lost to Neil Patrick Harris, who was also nominated for his guest stint on GLEE. What's more, NPH won twice that night. His other Emmy was for hosting the Tony Awards. Grrr!

I know music was the main focus of the show, but the acting was never given its due credit, because these are all absolutely incredible actors. Every time I watch scenes like this, even though I’m a 51-year-old man, I burst into tears every time, because I’m gay, and because almost every episode of the show was something I could relate to one point in my life or another. Although it’s been over for years, I think I’ve memorized every single episode, and not a week goes by that I’m not watching it over and over, because it brought me so much joy, because I love music, in fact I was in the glee club Wayback in the late 80s in high school, but back then, I could’ve never been open and out like they are in the show, and it gives me so much hope for the future that kids don’t have to suffer the pain that I went through, they don’t have to know the heartbreaking anxiety and depression I’m hiding in the closet when you’re so desperate to find love. Every time I watch the show it reminds me of David, the quarterback of our schools football team. It mirrors Finns character almost exactly, I had such a huge crush on him, and he was a fantastic singer. But he was straight as well, and it absolutely killed me they happen sit right beside me every day in class as we sang together, him not knowing how deeply I had fallen for him, and I knowing that it would never ever happen, but still secretly hoping it would anyways. Unlike the show, I didn’t have a happy ending, I finally told him after years of emotional torment, how I felt about him, desperately hoping he’d say the same in return, but instead he punched me in the face, and knocked me out cold. I waited till we were completely alone to do this, but he acted like I ran around telling everybody I had a crush on him, and before he hit me, he told me that I just destroyed his reputation because a faggot liked him. He not only broke my heart, he broke my jaw, because he sucker punched me! He got arrested for assault, but I later found out why he acted the way he did, I found out that his father beat the crap out of him on a regular basis, and then his mother was an alcoholic and was never there for him, so he was just acting out, because he was just so angry at life, and I just was in the wrong place at the wrong time saying the wrong thing. We still went to trial because my parents insisted, and by the way that’s how my parents found out I was gay, in the emergency room, as I was telling the doctor what happened, not knowing they were standing right behind me, until a huge gasp came from behind me, I turn around and it’s them, I wanted to die. Thank God my parents said that they already knew, because I did drop hints all the time hoping they would get it so I wouldn’t have to tell them, they were my biggest supporters, and made sure that David paid for his actions, although I asked them to drop all charges, I was a minor at the time, so my parents had control. He didn’t go to jail, but he did spend two nights in the local police station, because his father was too drunk to pick him up, and his mother was nowhere to be found. It was my school counsellor of all people who told me David’s living conditions, after I absolutely insisted that he tell me what David told him about hitting me. Frankly I’m amazed he told me because it was a breach of confidentiality, but I’m glad he did because it made me understand why he acted the way he did. Here’s the crazy part, after everything was said and done, he apologized to me, not because he was forced to, because he wanted to, because he knew what he did was just out of anger and was not really directed at me. I excepted his apology, and overtime we actually became the best of friends, I was the best man at his wedding for Christ sake, I even made the typical best man speech, and told his bride that if ever she changes her mind I’d be willing to take him off her hands, and the crowd burst into laughter. At the time it seem like the most devastating thing in the world, a year later we were inseparable, he even used to try to find guys for me to date, and keep in mind this is before the Internet even existed, for the longest time people thought he was gay because he kept going around asking people if they knew of a single gay guy looking for a date, knowing how lonely I really was. So I didn’t get David as a lover, instead I found a very very lost soul, who became my nearest and dearest friend of my lifetime, and we’re still very very close to this day, and by the way, he did get his when we were really drunk one time, he dared me to take a swing at him to get revenge, so I did, and unfortunately, I guess I was stronger than I thought I was because I knocked him right through a plate glass window at the bar! LOL! I didn’t break his jaw, but he did break his arm falling on the ground after he fell through the window! We were both arrested that night, thank God my parents were kind enough to bail us both out. And by the way, just in case you’re wondering, after David hit me and had to call his parents to bail him out and they refused, he refused to have anything to do with him ever again and moved in with his grandmother. Both of his parents died shortly there after, both from drug overdoses. I literally held his hand and hugged him while he cried for hours, so I got far more than I could’ve ever hoped. I didn’t get a lover that time, I got somebody who I could confide in for the rest of my life, and vice versa. Sometimes you just have to look beyond their anger and give people the chance, because you never know why people act the way they do. Glee has taught me and millions of other people all around the world the same lesson, just to be open and tolerant, and not to judge other people, but get to know them instead. Thanks for listening guys, I have to stop, I’m getting a little too emotional remembering all this, see ya!

I honestly don't get this whole thing when kids in America literally move out of the parents' house. Like take half of the stuff with them and throw the other half away. Where do they go then when they come back for holidays or just for a visit? Don't they stay in the same room anyway? So why not just leave that stuff there? I'm 26, I've been out of home for 7 years and my bedroom is still the same. I might have to do this sooner or later anyway, when I get my own house and finally settle. But why do it when you're first going to uni? That just complicates everything. And it's not like the parents need that room. They hadn't been using it for 19 years anyway so what would they need it for now?
@hayleym14834 жыл бұрын
Parents in America generally turn the kids' old room into something else - a gym, an office, a guest bedroom. In my case, my siblings were much older than me, so when they moved out I was still 15. My parents let me use my brother's old room as a 'study' room so I had contrast between the room where I slept/ate/watched TV and the room where I did homework.

When Kurt realizes what his dad is saying about things changing, HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW BLAINE MUST BE FEELING! Although I do have to point out at Blaine was in every right to act the way he did about Chandler's texts to Kurt, but what I don't understand is why Kurt is defending his actions about it. Blaine knows that once Kurt leaves that things will change and with someone else texting Kurt in this episode is the start of things changing for them. Blaine is trying to communicate how he feels, but Kurt is defending that Chandler's texts makes him feel good and that his boyfriend isn't, if Kurt really knows Blaine, then he would have noticed that he (Blaine) isn't usually a distant person. This is what happens in the flashback when they break-up for the second time, Blaine would have known that something was up when Kurt doesn't seem care about the wedding prep only that Blaine was late for dinner. I am just glad that Blaine called Kurt out on his behavior during their fight, however, Kurt can be distant about his feelings at times and he does get defensive which is why he shouts "Maybe I Don't" but he regrets saying it right after he does. They both should have been patient throughout the engagement and let things go naturally, such as talking about moving in together and how that would affect them and among other things.
@quirkypurple33 жыл бұрын
blaine wasn’t in the right though, humiliating kurt in front of his friends for “cheating” when he cheats on him for real a few months later is bs. also blaine gaslit kurt by saying he transferred schools for him by using that as some sort of “gotcha” when earlier when he transferred kurt asked him if he moved schools for him to avoid resentment, blaine said he moved for himself... that is until he can use it in an argument against kurt. not to mention he did the same texting thing with their rival show choir lead who kurt made it very clear he did not like.
@quirkypurple33 жыл бұрын
also they took it out of the script, but kurt says he felt manipulated into saying yes to blaine’s proposal because he gathered everyone they ever knew to watch
@user-ef9pb7xl1c2 жыл бұрын
@@quirkypurple3 yeah and there is a reason it was cut, either because they realized it made no sense, or they wanted Kurt to lie in that scene. If you have watched the 5x01 episode you know Kurt knew about the proposal before and went there by his choice. Also, if we want to talk cut scenes, in that same episode they filmed and later cut a scene (there are stills) where Kurt has a sleepover with Mercedes, Santana and Rachel, and tells them he is going to say yes to Blaine's proposal
@user-ef9pb7xl1c2 жыл бұрын
@@quirkypurple3 do you realize this show is badly written and characters constantly contradict themselves, sometimes in the same episode? Yeah Blaine was totally gaslighting (idk how to conjugate this verb, English is not my language lmao) him
