They had to cut that way because, despite some training, most of the cast were not professional dancers. There were mistakes and hiccups, so they cut as best as they could and edited in a way that made it more interesting than static shots of pieces of choreo. Plus, the point of the performance wasn't so much about the choreo as it was about the Diva attitude anyway.

Lea, Amber and Naya are ALL wonderful singers, but all of them were wonderful in different ways with different voices.
