@@thetalkpodcast4914 no need to apologise! it's from sweeney todd, a musical where a barber (sweeney todd) comes back from a false prison sentence and goes on a revenge quest by killing people with his razors. his barbershop is above "mrs lovett's meat pie shop" so,,,,, the meat for her pies is provided that way. one scene a boy they've hired, toby, becomes suspicious of sweeney and wants warn mrs lovett about him, unaware that she is also in on the deal. toby starts singing her this song as he has come to see her as a mother figure and he wants to protect her, but she dismisses his claims and starts singing the song to him instead to calm him down, only to continue to lock him in the cellar with the oven and all the meat. so with that context, this song gives a false sense of security more than anything else
