I can see where Sams coming from. I mean obviously hes not gonna die without sex, but the fact that he straight up said he was willing to marry her should be enough for Mercedes to at least consider it. Marriages fail all the time.

I completely understand and agree with waiting for someone you truly love and trust. I did that, too, being comfortable with someone, knowing him and trusting him really helped, and it was worth it. Wait until you are ready and until you find that special someone, great advice. But marriage is absolutely unnecessary. Don't hold yourself back if it feels right just because you're not married, and don't force marriage. It's such a huge step, and if your relationship doesn't work out, you'll have all this paperwork and stuff. I think it puts so much pressure on the marriage and the wedding night, knowing you are now kind of trapped and if the sex is bad, you can't just leave. It'll be like 'it HAS to be good' and that's unhealthy. Find love, gain trust and explore each other. Don't wait with it all til marriage, your expectations will definitely be unrealistic and disappointing. Just go with the flow if you feel ready

OMG Mercedes could you please just open up to the fact that you can marry someone who can cheat on you, disrespect you, even though you didn't see any signs of it? And all this stuff about over the clothes, just because somebody sees your bra, doesn't mean that he or she will have sex with you, marry you or make fun of you. Mercedes is a Christian character - don't call her beliefs bullshit. As a Christian myself, it is nice seeing at least one Glee member who can restrain herself and keep herself for marriage. For her, sex is the ultimate form of intimacy and only her husband (who is supposed to be her lifelong partner) deserves it. A lot of today's problems are happening because people trivialize sex. Sam is also supposed to be a Christian but I guess he's the "culturally Christian" type. It's good to see this kind of discussion in Glee as it shows even so called Christian boys don't necessarily hold your views.
