Such a great song- Glen did a good job but it would have been so great to see an actual Beach Boys version. I'm glad they included a track on Made in California. While Glen didn't seem to think of himself as a Beach Boy, at least he spoke positively about it when doing their songs live on his concert tours (usually as a medley ) and it was good of him to appear as a guest at their Waikiki Beach anniversary concert. Sounds like you were ready to do your own vocal cover to the backing track!

It really was a 'thank you' from Brian Wilson - would have fitted nicely on the Today! album or even on Pet Sounds! Glen, as part of the Wrecking Crew, was on so many Beach Boy tracks! Great video, Jamie.

Actually the Boys played on all their albums and as for live shows, just look at the 60s,certainly up to 66 where they were often just the 5. Carl played good lead guitar. You can hear him on studio sessions. Al often played rhythm,Brian bass and piano. Dennis played both live and in studio. Bruce played bass and piano.

The Beach Boys for me were equally as unique and musically blessed as the Beatles.

Watch Glen Campbell dvd he made near the end of his life. I believe this song was in the dvd. Even has Hal Blaine, Don Randi at the end of the video, it’s a lot about Glens dementia. Made me cry. My brother had and died from dementia too.

Most of their fans hadn't a clue the Boys could not really play instruments at a high enough level and were not the instrumentalists on their records.....it was all laid down by the LA studio musicians, including Glen Campbell, who were known back then as the Wrecking Crew. The Boys were an act, a touring band, and in their later years, the Boys on stage had an entire 2nd band on stage behind them playing the key musical parts. The Rolling Stones and the Eagles have been touring with a traveling band and back of the stage players for years.....the stupid fans who pay thousands aren't any the wiser.....LOL
