Glen was an awesome talent - singing and playing the guitar. He was (and still is) one of my favorites.

He had such a beautiful natural voice whether he was singing a country music standard or a big ballad. He really gave every song he sang his own distinctive touch. We will not see his likes again. Rest in Peace Glen.

When I found this song on KZbin, I played it over and over. I love his version, and so many people have sung this traditional early classic.... The Everly Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Norah Jones and Billy Armstrong. So many.... It is a wonderful song! I have been finding a new appreciation for Glen Campbell in the last couple of years....... and then he died!

Is this recorded elsewhere? I looked it up on Spotify and I did not find it.

My Dad always sang this song, he was an entertainer in his own right.....he passed away today 2 weeks shy of his 90th birthday.....Hopefully I will sing this at his funeral....So glad Glen has recorded this song....perfect for today. It will be the last song I sing to my Dad also.... RIP Dad & Glen ♥♥

I often miss and think about my dad...Owen Morgan of Morgan Springs, Tennessee....What a great guy...I recall as a toddler, he'd put my legs thru the car steering wheel and away we'd go....Sometimes I'd be upside down.

I believe that Glen could have made a fantastic western album if he'd wished to. There are great versions on KZbin of him singing 'El Paso' and 'Gene Autry, My Hero', but I would have loved to hear him sing 'Red River Valley', 'Riders In The Sky', 'Cool Water' 'Big Iron' and others in the genre. If his version of 'That Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine' is anything to go by, he would have done full justice to them. A superb artist and I'm saddened by the way his life has turned out.

Fun trivia moment...Paul Overstreet, in the white hat, is the father of Chord Overstreet who played Sam on the hit TV show Glee! Paul is a songwriter who has written many hits including "Here in the Real World" which Glen often sang in concert.
