Glen Hansard live @ Breminale 2012

Back in 2004 Glen Hansard played a private concert in my living room in Galway Ireland for my son Alan who won it through a radio quiz and i have to say Glen was a pure gentle man as were everyone in his band and every one who traveled with the band. there were photographers and sound people etc. it was a full blown concert with all my sons friends and our neighbors there some in the house ,which was crowded and more outside at windows and more just enjoying the sound that came through open windows and doors, It was an evening I will remember for the rest of my life. I have a video which i have to find. Its here in my house somewhere

This performance by Glen Hansard at Breminale in 2012 ... As I watched it, it was almost palpable that the audience were part of something glorious, and I watched, mesmerized, knowing that this is what is called to be part of a generation and seeing it being born and finding their voice...

I'm so glad, I found this live concert, music still exists and that's the biggest proof of it and all that bullshit commercial and fake musicians gave us every day on radio stations and on tv music channels isn't real music, THATS GREAT MUSIC REAL PURE TRUE THAT GIVE SHIVERS TO THE SOUL ! It's called The Weight. It's by Levon Helm and The Band. Levon died this year and this is Glen's way of paying him a tribute.

That's a valid question. I believe Glen's solo stuff is more mellow than the Frames. He's also (from what I understand) toured a bit on his own with his solo album. I think it's a way for him to keep going when maybe the boys need a break? But if you compare the music between the two I think it's mainly just a slightly different genre. It's basically him continuing on The Swell Season without Marketa. Did that all make sense?
