finally bought my first set of glencairn glasses...always used regular round or square mouthed whiskey glasses since thought a nosing glass was snobbish. awesome big difference not only in the nose/aroma of the whiskey but it keeps the flavor concentrated longer.

Glen Moray is very reasonably priced here in South Africa. Even though this Sherry Cask finished expression is not yet available here - I do look forward to trying it once it arrives on our shelves. Cheers Bill 👌😊🥃!

I just opened my first Glenmorangie Nectar D'or and had a sip after a sip of sherried Glen Moray. Man, it kinda killed Sauternes finish for me. Even tho both wines are among the sweetest ones in the world. Moray is so much sweater and I think that's the problem, I was focusing on sweetness. Anyway, Moray is over and all I need is a fresh evening to start with D'or to really appreciate it. I had Moray sherry, chardonnay and non finished version, no complaints at all. So if you wanna explore cask finishes on a budget without missing out on quality, there is no better option.😊😊

Peated Glen Moray is very nice for the price (I bought mine as a gift set with 2 glasses). Upfront peat but nice fresh fruit with fresh peach being prominent. Young and crisp, no harshness, no metallic taste. IMHO at this price/quality NAS is acceptable. Also very light color, so not crazy with e150a. I intend to try other expressions.

Nice review Bill :) I just got a handful of different Glen Moray finishes samples. I am looking forward to comparing them, though it does not sound like the most influential finishes around.

Glen Moray is pretty much the cheapest Single Malts that are available here in Finland so I'd never even considered that they are, you know, actually good. But I really gotta try one of them, thanks for the review!

Nice review Bill. I picked up the Glen Moray Chardonnay Cask finish bottle yesterday. I had to after your favorable review of the sherry cask finish. There was plenty of that on the shelf and will get that next time. But there were only 2 bottles left of the Chardonnay finish. I cracked it and had a dram and it pretty enjoyable. A easy drinking summer type dram. Wine taste really comes through on all fronts . It was a quick dram but initially I got apricot and pineapple with a bit of spice finish from the cask. Pick it up if you can find it. Great buy for 25.00.!!! Slainte
