Amazing to hear this after all these years! To Larry Schillings my apologizes for being a pain in the ass all those years ago, but this is a testament to you and your inspiration! I remember this fondly and I am very proud to have been a member of the band for 3 years! Thank you all! To George RIP thanks for teaching and inspiring all of us drummers!

Hi Larry! I grew up listening to that amazing band. My sisters were both in the band under your direction. I had George as a drums instructor for a bit when I was in the HS band (sad to hear he's gone:( ). I think the 72 band set the gold standard for all things to come - so, thank you for that inspiration - and Ken, thanks for finding this gem. It still holds up (trombones and all!). It would be great to know if there's film - I can help transfer that. Best, Richard Kerris '78

My mother brought a carload of us GR kids up to MSC to see the show. Apparently I was the only one to sit still and be mesmerized by the band. As a challenged musician, I was able to become a member of the band in 1977. I still cherish what I learned with the band, the connections I made and the absolute quality of musicianship I learned under George Hanas and Stan Jackson. The music program at GRHS was absolutely extraordinary and you played a large part in developing that. I was absolutely obsessed with becoming a member of one of the best bands in NJ from 1972 on. Thank you for starting that tradition which has resonated throughout my life. P.S. Tums out my challenged musicianship was due to a learning disability.

Wow, this brought back memories for me. I remember that season. And I was only about 11 in 1972. Are you sure this was the `72 show? Really? -Todd GRHS `79

God, those trombones were obnoxious-sounding! Larry, a little more time spent on balance and blend, please! Still, the drum line sounds fantastic, thanks to Lee Ann Horton. (p.s. this is Jim Millar, one of two obnoxious-sounding trombones, the other was Dr. Bruce Watson. And let's not forget Mark Berry, Amy Vecchione, Paula Schwanenflugel, Celeste DePiero, and more).
