Nice rview. Ive livd here over 50 years. One of the lowest crime cities in the US over 200K. Also Armenian food central. Birthplace of actor John Wayne. Also interesting is the Brand Art Gallery and Library dedicated to art and music. Also soon the Armenian historical museum. Glendale has enjoyed low crime but has had some some interesting murderous characters. Back in the 80s the Hillside Stranglers Keneth Biancci and Angelo Buono operated from Bono's top shop in Glendale. Efrain Saldivar worked at Adventist hospital and was convicted of killing many patients. Called "The Angle of Death. And lastly John Orr was a city firefighter and serial arsonist finally caught and convicted of murder when someone died in one of his fires. Low crime in glendale except for the occasional serial killer, heheh. The author James M Cain (Double Indemnity, Mildred Pierce, and the Postman Always Rings Twice) lived in adjacent Burbank but set all of his novel in Glendale. Brand Library and The Train Station will be recognizable in many movies. Because of the convenient location, if you know glendale well, you will recognize many shooting location in tv shows, like the old Police Station. During Covid I wrote a murder mystery set in Glendale called "What You Wish For" If you like that kind of read. this isn't exactly a cash run, Amazon pays $3 a book or download so if a couple people get it, I might order Zankou Chicken tonight for dinner :)
@TheDavidNeytsShow8 ай бұрын
Wow, you know a lot of stuff about Glendale and the various murderers around this area. Okay, I'll check out your book. Murder mysteries are always fun, and if it's set in Glendale I'll be able to better visualize all the areas.

@@TheDavidNeytsShow Thanks. Catch the 1953 movie Crime Wave, A lot of it Shot in Glendale. About bad guys coming to town to rob a bank You can spot the Alex, Masonic Temple. great fun. The bank is now a mens clothing store on Broadway and Brand. Also A lot of Criminal Minds TV show was shot around glendale, Kensington Apartments, the church across Brand etc, I think the headquarters was shot in the old police building on Wilson and Howard.

Yes, there are a lot of Russian speakers around here. This area is very multicultural but also one of the safest places in Los Angeles. I've never had a problem here. Area is clean and there's always a ton of restaurants, places to visit. Love this area!

I absolutely love Glendale! It's incredible that such a clean, and relatively safe place is so close to los angeles and Hollywood! I live in Anaheim, right next to the Disneyland Hotel, but flour favorite restaurant is in Glendale! It's on Brand Blvd, and it's named Damon's! Right next door to Damon's is Portos Cuban bakery, and behind both tgs The Great White Hut, a little burger stand that's serves giant burgers! I've been wanting to visit the Neon Museum, and I'm glad to see the shoe repair sign that used to hang right behind the Great white hut up until recently, safe on the Museum!

Okay, I will check out Damon's. Thank you for the recommendation. I've passed in front of the burger hut you are speaking about many times and never realized that their burgers were so good. I'll have to give it a shot. I love the Museum of Neon art! Thank you for your wonderful comment.

I'm glad I was able to give you an insight about Glendale. I did do a similar video about Silverlake and pretty soon I'm releasing a video about Los Feliz. I'd say that my favorite areas in LA are definitely #1 - Silverlake , #2 Pasadena #3 Atwater Village #4 Los Feliz #5 Glendale....If you are wondering about Atwater Village. It's a small area in between Silverlake and Glendale. It's a slightly cheaper to live in than Silverlake but just as close to all the cool and trendy places.
@BrighamYen3 жыл бұрын
Pasadena is my #1 favorite area in the LA area! The architecture in Pasadena's downtown like Old Town and City Hall area are just beautiful. Pasadena also has the best museums rivaling even LA itself. Norton Simon, Pacific Asia Museum, Huntington Library. Caltech, JPL, Rose Bowl, etc are also world renowned institutions within Pasadena! Plus you have the Gold Line (L) that takes you to DTLA!

I'm very proud of Porto's except for their taking out the "Cuban" from their title just to add non-cuban products for no understandable reason since those products already have their place in restaurants from other nationalities. This is one of the best Cuban places to eat in the U.S. Even Cuban restaurants in Miami would have tough competition from Porto's if they finally decided to expand to Florida.
@TheDavidNeytsShow Жыл бұрын
What is crazy about Portos is the fact that they've kept their food quality so high and their prices so low. I really don't know how they can deliver this type of quality for so cheap.
