Glendronach, 48% ABV. Glengoyne, slightly darker. Smoothest is Glenfarclas, in a good way, but the best tasting is Glendronach. Glengoyne is no slouch but since the price is about the same, I would choose the Parliament. Glenfarclas 25 competes well with the other two, the 21 is outclassed in this comparison, but it is more affordable.

What a great in-depth video of great old whiskies. May I get your opinion. The Glendronach 21seems to be a special whisky I've never heard a negative word about. I hear in some years to come there will be no more 21 parliament on the market. if that's the case, then would you say that this beloved bottle will greatly go up in value in years to come? Into the thousands perhaps? I'm thinking of doing some investing.

don mon thank you Don! absolutely it would be a good investment. 2019 - 2020 - 2021 - 2022 especially (though no guarantee they will release next year or year after) Some places have them underpriced ( here they are only $225 CAD) so try and get the best possible price you can find. Glad that I decided with a Glendronach 21 for $180 CAD. final cash !!😍 in 2018 Christmas . There is still 1 more bottle of Glendronach 18 on the store shelf covering in dirt, and selling for $170 Canadian now. Would This be a good buy?. Thanks Mark.

You said it Mark, ‘Deliciously sweet’. Also extra 5% abv is decisive I think. I found Glengoyne 21 weak in comparison. Great review, please don’t ever swap those sunglasses for a Whisky bottle . They look good on you.

​@@WhiskyWhistle Mark, didn't try Glenfarclas 21, tried Glenfarclas 15 some years ago. It was great from memory. Dronach 21 is just one of the best sherried ones out there. In that 225 price range, not sure any sherried one can beat this. Btw, seems like great weekend weather there, you put it to use very well

Great review. I have only tried the Glenfarclas 21 at a whisky event but I also tried the 12, 15, 17 and 105 that same evening. The 21 was the best of the 5. After your review and you mentioning strawberry rhubarb pudding I bit the bullet and bought it.....for a very enticing $110 CDN here in Calgary. Now I can have a dram with my strawberry rhubarb pie that my awesome wife made today. Heck yeah!!

Your Glendronach was actually 23 Y old. That's why the prices rising up so fast now. 👇 The distillery was closed from 1996 until 2001, and that gap of six years forces GlenDronach to use older whisky than necessary. That's an open secret!

This was a nice comparison. Although I was not to impressed with my Glendronach 21. I much prefer the Dronach 18. I still have the Glengoyne 21 and enjoy that at $120. Never had the Glenfarclas 21, but I had the 25 yr and it did not live up to my expectations at only $135. Great review Mark.
