Everyone who was part of this movie should be proud for the rest of their lives: an irish independent production with a small budget of a few thousand dollars conquered the world, and this song ended up winning an Oscar. That's absolutely incredible. It is still one of my favorite movies, it's raw, it's real.. I couldn't ask for anything more.

A heartbreaking love story where he falls in love with a lady from another country, not knowing she is married with a small child. In real life, Glenn and Marketta were in love for a time, but are no longer together. The film was on a minuscule budget. but the story and characters had everything to lift it into the stratosphere. Unsurprisingly, this song won the Academy Award for Best Song.

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scared from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting there reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you don't feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day. :)

Sal G As a writer, singer and instrumentalist I must tell you that great music in itself can absolutely make a great story and fill the soul. I watched this film when I was 17. I was heartbroken at that time. About three years later, in Athens I fell in love with a really beautiful and nice person. Honestly I’ve never met such a kind person in my life. My new life has begun with a new love.

Why this movie is so touching and strike a cord is because they are real musicians and they really fell in love during the production of the movie...... and we all sense it. It captured a singular moment in time, ONCE, a magical moment never to be repeated, ever again.

I love the film but the cinematography definitely wasn't very strong, understandably so because the shoestring budget. Still loved the film but the way it looked did sort of take me aback at first. I got used to it and am very happy I finished it, as it was excellent. In no small part due to the music being so great to carry the film on its shoulders.
