Glenmore Lodge instructor Mark Chaddwick runs through the winter mountaineering skill of digging and constructing a buried axe back up for a bucket seat belay. Further increasing your safety when ascending steeper slopes. Glenmore Lodge offer a range of winter mountaineering courses from December to April, based in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore.

hola javi! curiosamente vi tu video como buen abulense q soy viendo videos del ascenso al almanzor...y ya diria que me he visto todos tus videos... eres un maquina,estas hexo un Calleja,solo q tu no llevas sherpas jeje... sin duda la camara y la montaña estan hechas para ti jeje.que privilegio subir al almanzor con esa facilidad que pareces tener y transmitir a quienes llevas a esa cima.un saludo.david

Hi Mark, what about using just the T-anchor? If you decide you need backup, it's because you decide you need something more secure / stronger. What's the point of digging out a bucket seat as well apart from sitting down comfortably?

That's a lot of time. Bury Deadman and belay using a munter direction off the anchor you built?

Wouldn't a DMM Deadman do the trick. Or does this method have more advantages?
