Being that I was 9 years old in '71, I didn't recall this at all, way past my bedtime. Too bad this show only lasted a season, it was really good, I enjoyed it very much! Thank you, Rob! 👍👍

YES! Bobby Darin was funny (sort of) as he portrayed Billy the Kid. Thanks for reviving all these memories, Rob and RJ. May you and yours be blessed, with a very prosperous New Year, and Merry Christmas! 👍👍 500💖 1k🌟 🤠🎅

I wonder if director Richard Donner remembered working with Glenn Ford on this show made him think Ford would make a great Jonathan "Pa" Kent for "Superman" ?

Probably, keith. Thanks.

Rob Word is one of the 3 Best Dressed Men in America. I won't identify the other two, because I don't want anyone to think I'm making a political statement. 👍⬆

Yes, CADES COUNTY from my old studio of 20th Century-Fox... some of the main sets like the courthouse were still on the lot when I started there. It had al the makings of a great series, veteran producer Charles Larson just came off four years of helming the iconic THE FBI tv series, and before that 12 O'CLOCK HIGH... They had a good cast and the great Henry Mancini scoring the attention-grabbing music theme, but like so many shows the timing didn't gel back in 1971. Executive producer David Gerber did better though a few years later with POLICE STORY and its spin-off POLICE WOMAN. As for Glenn Ford, well his movie days were basically over with just TV movies MIDWAY and THE SACKETTS of course, but as good as his career was, his sex life with so many star actresses could easily rival that of the legendary Errol Flynn. Three of the films he enjoyed and treasured the most were BLACKBOARD JUNGLE, 3:10 TO YUMA and COWBOY! But what few people including many of his fans, didn't know was his miltary career... Ford was very patriotic, from starting out with the Coast Guard Auxiliary to the US Marines to the rank of Captain in the US Navy. From WWII to two tours of duty in Vietnam, and he saw plenty of frontline action in his day. CADES COUNTY's main titles were shot out at that classic western location Red Rock Canyon Park, and the second half of this two-episode "movie" with the lake and rope bridge, well that's the 20th Century-Fox ranch, before it was sold to the state of California along with Ronald Reagan's Ranch which Fox bought earlier... you can visit it now because it is the Malibu Creek State Park, where they filmed M*A*S*H, PLANET OF THE APES and so many movies and shows.
