This is why Glenn Hughes is one of my favorite people on the planet, and is often referred to as "The Godfather of Funk and Soul" by many people! One of the best blues/hard rock vocalists ever in my opinion!

Godfather funk and soul was James brown. But Glenn with Trapeze first , was surely one of thoses guys with 20 years ahead of his time by beign a Metal pionnier and fusion the stuff with the funk as far he did with that band. Then Purple , and Play me out solo record.

Oh yeas my brother Gleen is a force of nature a gift of God for humanity and example and inspiration of all the vocalists in the business , many had gone trought what they call in the business go trought. The initiation witch is plain and simple the devils blessing to acuaring supernatural vocal skills , that i know Gleen had mantain him self away from that evil influences and thats very hard in showbiz , i admire him because of his clean game and his supremacy in vocals is natural and there is no witchcraft crap , this some say had cost him been overseen or not recognize it like he should many people knows this because is not a secret,Glenn is the real deal.

If he worked with talented musicians more often he would have to pay them. Since the early 90s Yungwe has been playing to audiences of only 200 (two hundred). Only guitarists are interested in shredders.

I second yngwie doing something with Hughes, I feel like yngwie totally respects him as a musician / idol. He’s so much cooler when he slows down and shows off his vibrato / blues licks. He is such a dynamic player when he doesn’t go into over-shred mode. He is a beast on the guitar …an awesome showman

Maaan, what a set of pipes for his age, he sounds even better now than 1974 lol. Rock on Glenn !!!

Yes, it was fantastic show, five cover songs if I remember well. Walter Giardino...amazing guitar player, "his" version of "Mistreated" was way better than this...I don't want to make any comparisons but Rata Blanca set very high level. Keep rockin Blanca.🤘🇦🇷🤘🇵🇱🤘 We wish you well. 🎸

What a combo. One guy let's out constant over the top shrill ghoul like shrieks and screams while the other shreds so many more notes than could possibly ever be needed, especially seeing he is doing the rythym section.

Why doesn't Malmsteen slow down and make it sing instead of all that souless fretwank?
@toddvandell857 жыл бұрын
Johnny Chunders Yngwie cannot resist showing off. Simple as that. He learned to play from Ritchie but he does leave out much of the soul. I love Glenn Hughes and he is a great singer, but this was always David Coverdale's song. It lacks the bluesy feel David gives it. He just way overdoes it here.

@TheAardvaak8 жыл бұрын
Blackmore is a guitar genius. In fact he is widely regarded as one of the finest musician ever to have picked up a guitar. Malmsteen can play exceptionally fast but (largely) without passion. He has no idea how to do blues/feeling/emotion but will always amaze as to how many notes he can play per second.
@abzstr8 жыл бұрын
Music to my opinion brings a beauty to our ears......I guess nobody wants to hears the singer singing RRRRRRRRRRR or BLA-BLA-BLA as faster as he or she could. We want to hear a singer's voice, its color and deepness. Nobody also plays other instruments faster than speed of sound........
@Forzafurioso7 жыл бұрын
@TheAardvaak The feeling part is subjective. But in my opinion Yngwie lost some of the feel over the years and plays too much. What annoys me is that sometimes he reveals that he can slow down and do things differently but he chooses not to. PS: He didn't play as fast in the beginning of his career and with more melody.
@lstarrtna42889 жыл бұрын
Yngwie nice. Jeez should work together.

Yngwie play way too many notes.
@zacharypontzer11668 жыл бұрын
+Nevigo This is true, way too many notes. Although lately it seems he's been flubbing up a lot yet in this video the notes just seem to pour out of him. If they poured out of me like that I probably wouldn't be able to hold the notes back. He's like a car with a leak, he doesn't even mean to let some of those super clean neoclassical runs happen, they drip out unexpectedly.

@nevigo55198 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean,but in Yngwies case,its sick.IMO . If he can get away with it,he play superfast all the time.Nothing thrills me more than a guitar slinger that burst into a series of notes so fast you almost cant count them,but what I mean is if he has done that the whole evening,the excitement is so so.
