Quick note, if you hear some ringing in the video, it is not from my drums. Britt's snare playing is so powerful that the sustain wasn't totally removed, even when I muted the original drum track. I tried my best to minimize it, but it can still be heard a bit in the quieter parts. Sorry about that.
That being said, this is one of my favourite songs of all time. I covered the EP version a few years ago but I wanted to revisit this song and do a more up-to-date cover of the Spiderland Outtake version. Believe it or not but I actually find it more challenging to play this slower version. I'm gonna get real with you guys, it saddens me to think of all the potential Slint albums we could've had if the band didn't break up. I'm a massive fan of Slint and I basically show this song to everybody I know because, in my opinion, this is one of the best songs ever conceived. I wait for the day that Slint reunites once more. I use the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Audio Interface and I do all my recording in Cubase 8. Original drum track was removed with an app called Moises. Video footage recorded with GoPros.
