We drive a replica of the car that never was! An LC XU1 V8 prototype clone, a car in the day that was also referred to by some as the XU2! The Holden Dealer Team with mastermind Harry Firth joined by gun drivers Peter Brock and Colin Bond had an ace up their sleeve in the early 70s, after much success with the giant killing six cylinder powered Holden Torana GTR-XU1, they decided to take on the giants with a V8 powered variant of the same platform and started developing such a machine, until that is, when the government clamped down on Australia's big three manufacturers building these high powered cars such as the Ford Falcon GTHO Phase four and the Chrysler Valiant Charger E55 for retail sale to homologate for racing purposes, and ultimately to go on and win Bathurst.
At Master of Machines, we love cars, in fact, we love anything with wheels or an engine, from American Muscle Cars to Australian Muscle Cars, Race Cars and Classic Cars of all kinds and even Barn Finds. If it's fast, powerful, restored or hidden away in hibernation then we'll cover it, and in most cases, we'll even drive them!
