Glennis has had a very difficult time. However, she will get over it. She has learned and will come back stronger I think. Glennis, together with Floor Jansen (solo and with the band Nightwish, look them up) is the best the Netherlands has to offer in terms of female singers. I never forget the very first time I heard GG sing this great song, not only she nailed it perfectly with her powerful voice, but the heartpain and emotions she express is beyond amazing. Incredible!! Goosebumps is right. She "ate it"! I don't engage in comparisons and don't care if she is better or not than Beyonce. The question is how she makes us FEEL when she sings. She moves me like few other singers, even those who are more "agile" than GG. She is a master singer and artist. I agree with you that "her tone is naturally beautiful, smooth, and velvety." One of my favorite singers too. Without a doubt.

Both Beyonce and Glennis( mezzo-belter) are very good mezzo-sopranos, I don't think it would be necessary to try to compare them, each of them has a different and unique tone and timbre of the voice. When appreciating a voice, preferences are often subjective. Personally, I prefer Glennis' voice, but it's just a strictly personal opinion, others certainly prefer Beyonce, who is much better known and loved and whose voice is sensational. I think that Glennis' voice is very similar to that of lead singer Keyshia Cole. Quite underappreciated, although I don't really understand why Glennis' voice is absolutely enchanting, those harmonics in her voice are like arrows that pierce your soul!

There was something going on with her for vibrato. She was trying to keep it the whole time and you can sing straight tone as long as you start or end with vibrato but there's no need to hold it the whole time. With those power belts any good music teacher will teach you that. It was kind of broadway-ish. But she's an amazing powerhouse.

Beyoncé’s, despite age and darkening still has that bell-like ring to her voice that communicates clarity, especially in her upper registers. Glennis lacks this quality. So there’s no way she has more clarity. And she doesn’t have more resonance than Beyonce. Do you know what resonance is?
