One thing is for sure, new gear keeps you outdoors 👀😂. A small coffee while catching moments or ideas isn't bad at all, something that we should do more often.

Thanks for the video Mattias, what I needed during morning coffee. You have a pretty accepting wife to be able to ride the trails for 6 days. I ride for the same reasons, a basic need to clear my mind and re-set. I use Motoz Adventure on the rear, Rallz front - Africa Twin 1100 ADV Sport. I have about 7,000km on them and should get another 2,000km before they are done. Great tire, can be noisy on highways. I'll probably buy another set. Looking forward to the next one!

Fantastic ride Mattias. Easy to see how much you were enjoying it by the sound of that engine and the squirming of the back wheel. Question for you, how do you think the 890 would handle a passenger? I would like to take my wife occasionally for local day rides, nothing as tricky as that terrain. Maybe you can do a short ride with your wife on board one day, out to those lake settings. I’m relying on your videos to remind me of what it’s like while we are locked down in Australia. Keep it up.
@Braapncamp3 жыл бұрын
Tusen tack DKW! The 890 takes a passenger with charm. I have tested with Bibbi just because I was curious too. She as well. Bibbi rode with me 2 up for several years on trip to the Alps and Mediterranean. Since we went in to RV'ing she has only been on the bike occasionally. I actually got her to stand up at the rear pegs when we were riding on forest tracks 2 up 👍. The 790 has room and power enough for two at day trips or occasional travels. For constant 2 up a GSA or 1290 SAR is recommended ofc with even better comfort and torque.
@MrEtnorb3 жыл бұрын
@@Braapncamp Thanks Mattias. I thought you would confirm that info. I too have done a lot of 2 up tours on the 1200's and they are wonderful but heavy for the dirt. I have been thinking of a 1090R as it has a good reputation but the 890 is freely available at dealers for test rides and has the latest electronics. I was hoping you would give a review of your bike and you did so at the end of the ride. YOu must have >10,000kms on it now and no troubles. That is reassuring as no doubt you have heard of the range of niggles with the early 790's. I assume that KTM has largely sorted everything with the 890, hence my interest.
@Braapncamp3 жыл бұрын
If we compare to the 690, the 690 is cramped for 2 up. Really inconvenient for 2up. The 790 is not cramped at all for two. Ofc with all the reports on the 790 I always check it. My breaks squeeks, which I don't like. The break fluid reservoir is wetting on the lid, not replay concerned about that. It has never missed a beat, no jerky start, it always fire upp perfect. No sign of leak from rear shock, something I keep an eye on. Loctite on the gear shifter linkage, lost a bolt there once. Would not swop this bike for anything else than a 890R. Given what's on market today. I was not too easy on the throttle, but far from wild, 4,4l/100Km's. That gave me a nice fuelrange. The new Motoz Deserts that I threw on it runs relay nice, it bites and steer alot better than with Rallz. Rallz are great though for rides like this.

@@Braapncamp Unfair advantage for the Boxer ;-) But that low side tank of the KTM, ingenious for low-speed handling.
@Braapncamp2 жыл бұрын
