Hello Peter, now i decide to follow your way and get a Glidecam for the S1H. Do you think I need he Glidecam DGS or is the HD-Pro strong enough for the S1H? Or is the Flycam a serious option for 220 euro? Thanks in advance

Hi The Glidecam HD PRO is good enough. But the head on teh DGS is just the best they have. and I really like the adjustment on the post. The flycam is the cheaper option, but useble.

Hi Peter, thats the review I need! Thanks for that!! I have the GH5 and the S1H too and a Zhiyun crane 1. I considered to get the Crane 3S but I am afraid of the size and now use the GH5 on the old crane. Should I stay wit my set up or get the 3S? I think every smaller gimbal is too small for the S1H.

I kind of have a love hate relationship with the Crane 3s. It is a powerful gimbal, but the weight is ignoring. But lately I have used it with a dual handle grip upside down and this is actually a great way to use it. video coming up. But stick with your gh5 and Crane 1. If you really want your S1H on a gimbal, rent the crane 3S and test it before you buy.

I think gimbals struggle especially when whipping and panning the camera ..that’s where I notice that robotic jitter every now and then. Glide cam looks like it would struggle in slow and static type shots because as humans and how our muscles work it’s hard to remain perfectly steady when doing slomo work.

These are both gimbals. One is motorized, the other is not.

Thomas Helvenstine one is a glidecam the other a gimbal. Gimbal's are mostly referred to as motorized stabilizers and glidecams’s / steadycam as manual stabilizers. They both do the same job but in different ways.

@@PeterMakholm I agree with you that they both do the same job but in different ways. A glidecam, steadicam, flycam etc are the brand names for those particular manually mechanical gimbals. They have been generalized as such in recent years because of the introduction of motorized gimbals, so I get why they are named as such, but both are still gimbals at the root of it's word. One is just motorized, while the other is fully manual.
