I have the same master Gliga Strad but mine is the 2 piece back, did the same as you with the strings and it is wonderful. I'm thinking on changing the sound post as the original is soft. I noticed yours did brighten up nicely with that change. :)

Yes, the soundpost can make a difference - not only the quality of the soundpost but where you put it exactly.

@@DietrichLasa You will also find the more it ages the better the sound. Mine is 17 yrs old and it vibrates wonderfully even up the neck, the varnish needs to cure. Mine has the Guarneri style chin rest, did you change yours?

Why would you use carbon fibre tailpiece instead of ebony?

Carbon fiber is lighter than a timber tailpiece with string adjusters. It is unnecessary to turn pegs in the peg hole that increases the size of the hole each time you turn the peg.

Really, why buy a Strad if you can buy this violin for much much less!
