I think an explanation would be that glitch itself exists in a higher dimension. That is why even the architects may be unsure of what it is. And the glitch fragments are only a part of glitch that exists in our dimension and it too is powerful enough to mimic entities and also kill us.

The "celestials" are just celestial bodies. It says "architects MARKED by celestials" and we see that each architect is marked with a celestial body, aka guiding light represents the Moon, curious light the sun and the Red light possibly a galaxy or black hole

My theory: I wouldn't say that glitch is outright more powerful than the architects (although that is definitely possible), but rather has absolute control over on a whole different parallel dimension that mirrors the game world. When the game breaks, you are leaving the confines of the game world and entering glitch's domain, so the architects can't intervene and have no idea what's going on since they are stuck in the game world. Same thing happens when you interact with a glitch fragment. This aligns with the fact that the entities that the glitch fragment spawns are only seen by the player that interacted with the fragment and nobody else. The entities spawn in a parallel world only seen by those who enter glitch's dimension. If the player dies to the entities, to their teammates and the architects, they just drop dead. TL;DR: My theory is that glitch is the god of their own parallel dimension that nobody else can enter unless they break the game or interact with a glitch fragment.

My theory: Glitch could be a corrupted/forgotten artitect, as in the painting there are 3 symbols representing the 3 artitects but the sky might represent Glitch and that they might have been the Main or older leader to all the artitects but something happened and he got corrupted and turned to a glitched figure, then the hotel around it was collapsing showing the void as he was the one who created this place for people that go in limbo but the others had to banish him or the void will all but consume it all, soon then Glitch resides beyond the void, even if he was banished he still looks after the players and his fellow artitects and acompany the other fellow entities such as Greed, Drakobloxxers, Jeff the Killer and many more, Glitch helps players when they somehow get into the void by teleporting them back, but sometimes it backfires... as they have a corrupted body it maybe start to error or glitch out leading to killing them in the process... Glitch still tries to save the players in limbo/hotel/rooms/mines even if it may backfire and accidentally kill them.

I think glitch is somewhat an equal to the architects, rather than a higher up like a Celestial. This is a large leap based on the fact that the Gloombats are Blue (Guiding Light), Yellow (Curious Light), Red (Yet-to-be-named Red Light) and Purple (Glitch). Usually, the primary colors would be grouped with green, so purple has to have some significance. Again, this is a huge leap of what could be, but I think its possible.

Glitch itself is a 4th wall break. He kinda reminds me of Jax from TADC. Jax is aware of the viewer and glitch only appears when something goes wrong in game. Maybe glitch knows about the player on the other side of the screen? I do believe he’s (somewhat) powerful tho, like he can literally change the rooms, tp you, kill and damage you and manifest special entities that even guiding light doesn't know about. Him appearing as a failsafe (I think) isn’t cannon but the glitch fragments is. Like another commenter said, I (okay maybe we) think he is canon but also not canon in a sense. Also, when he appears, the player receives damage but also fixes whatever went wrong, allowing them to progress. But he also spawns the familiar entities that can kill you. Perhaps he’s a neutral entity or like seek. Seek can most definitely kill you when you first encounter him but he “toys” with you and allows you to escape. Ok srry if this was confusing or bad worded lol, I don’t do theories often.

One thing I noticed when researching stuff from this update is that Glitch has a bigger "presence" than the architects. Guiding Light "inhabits" the Hotel and the Mines, while Curious Light "inhabits" the Backdoors and the Rooms, but Glitch is omnipresent, able to appear in every floor and sub-floor.

I always had a theory that glitch is the mastermind behind everything, the entities, the map, the bosses, everything is controlled by glitch. Even when the hotel glitches and you cannot go further, glitch is the one teleporting you forwards to continue. He doesnt want you to stop going on. But if he was the one controlling everything, why would he want you to keep going on? Is it that he wants to give you, the player a challenge? Does he find the player's suffering.... fun? He's the most confusing and mysterious part of the lore.

My theory is that there are entities that just kills without any intention like Rush, Ambush, Screech, etc. There is entities that are good or has a reason to attack which are only Hide and Glitch. 2:34 Yes, the tower heroes event might not be canon but a lot of the content teased in that event actually ended up in the game. the sludge and hands entities were straight up added in the floor 2 update. dupes model had physical hands so the dupe remodel was also teased. timothy jr was originally from this event as well (i think) it became a ugc accessory (i dont remember which one came first). the red light was portrayed as evil, alerting figure when the round first starts (we'll see if that holds up). so considering everything i think theres a pretty big chance the devs got inspiration from this event

I really hope this doesn’t mean a “everything we’re going through is a simulation” type story for doors. I’ve had a theory for a while that everything we’re going through takes place in the void, hence why the backdoor has doors that lead into the vacuum. Curious light even says this place is forgotten. Maybe the hotel, the mines, and the rooms are all forgotten places and the void is where forgotten places go to. That could explain the missing rooms in the backdoor. Some parts are so forgotten, the void doesn’t even know what belonged in what door. Not sure how glitch would fit into this. Maybe really corrupted forgotten places?

i have a theory myself: i believe that when we interact with a glitch fragment, we somehow summon an experimental version of rush, ambush or screech (suggesting that maybe glitch created the entities), maybe the reason why guiding light doesn't know what killed you when you die to the glitched entities is because these are experimental versions of them, that are not supposed to be in the game. you know how glitch's role is to reposition you when the game breaks? well, i believe that the same can happen with items, they can glitch out and somehow corrupt into the glitch fragments, spawning the glitched entities. in conclusion: the glitched entities are experimental versions of the entities we are already familier with, when an item glitches out like we can in our runs it turns into a glitch fragment, and that guiding light doesn't know what we died to because the glitched entities aren't supposed to be in the game.

Another thing interesting is that when you pick up the glitched fragment, some ciphered texts can be seen, and there are in total two varieties, both ciphered with Base64. One of them deciphers as "403 ERROR" and the other deciphers as "RUNTIME BOOST", and another thing is that when you survive a glitched entity you get exactly 403 gold afterwards.

We know that Glitch can be used as a failsafe in The Rooms, and The Backdoor. Thus, if you want the glitch fragment easily, you have to encounter Glitch more or just 4 times. And if Glitch is pretty much unknown to architects, then we can't figure it out easily, making it just like knowing the game for the first time without dying.

My theory is that glitchy things are so traumatizing and horrifying that our brain can't process the information it's recieving correctly and it displays that thing as a mess of colors and shapes. There are 3 possibilities for strongest entities. 1. Seek 2. Glitch 3. Figure Seek is on the lsit because he has shown great power effortlessly taking down queen grumble with his goo. Glitch is here because though we barely know much about him and his powers. He seems very powerful i mean a glitch fragment is technically a very small fraction of his power, and with jsut a small fractiln of his power he summons weird versions of entities which are much much more powerful thsn their original counterparts. Lastly, figure is on the list because he is not weak he is still strong and though in floors 2 he isnt all that powerful, the devs confirmed that figure is the MAIN entity and that in floor 3 he will have a bigger role potentially portraying that he will have a comeback and be shown to be stronger than even seek.

My theory is that glitch is a failed part of the doors universe, like, the reality of DOORS is sort of a pocket dimension separate from the actual real world, and it seems to be being built in the very moment we're there (i take as an example the fact that in the lobby we're in the mid of nowhere, and the vacuum "entity") Glitch being a physical representation of parts of the pocket dimension that that generated with deformities or failed their generation, that also applying to the glitch fragments.

my theory for guiding light to dont know what we died to is: you see, when you pick the glitch fragment a entity spawns, but, if you're with other player, it doesn't spawn for them, as seen in the clip of glitched rush that we had previously (idk what ytbr did the clip), as, his friend didn't die and continued the run, as it might be a hallucination of the player who picked it, "then how we die?", glitch could have powers that his hallucinations could in fact kill you, as cheddar balls gave the theory of "he could be more powerful than the architects". So, with all this conclusion we can say that: guiding light couldn't see what happened.

My theory is that mischievous light is currently in war with glitch. Although we do know she is also in war with the grumbles, so maybe glitch can control the grumbles and use them as an army to fight mischievous while she uses seek and screeches and potentially queen screech to fight back. The only thing is that glitch uses screeches but not against seek as far as we know, glitch might actually be saving some for when mischievous is close to winning.

i read the wiki for the hotel floor to glitch section and it mentioned like room failing to load maybe the game is a simulation, an emulation of purgatory itself, all 3 architects (and others) are just entites made by glitch, the creator of the simulation, the potiental reason why glitchy fragments appear is that glitch imported them into your world to give you an optional challenge, and the reason why guiding and curious doesn't know what you died to is because glitch redacted the info about the entites (glitchy rush, ambush...) this doesnt make sense does it

I have a theory which I like to call the spirit embodiment theory where basically the idea of it is that glitch and seek are 1 in the same but glitch is the spirit version of seek because seek wants to take over limbo infecting 1 entity at a time he needs to be able to infect ALL entities but because he's a physical entity he can only infect physical entities so what if seek managed to split himself into seek and glitch and then glitch can corrupt spirit entities like ambush and rush and you might say well why did he corrupt screech then because if glitch and seek are the same then they would already know how to infect the screeches and its super familiar to him and easy because they are the perfect host they could corrupt the screeches and make them twice as stronger which is why there is a giant group of them when you encounter the glitch screeches another piece of evidence to back this claim is one of el goblinos lines where he said "me and bob saw that eyeball dud but like purple and wierd" that line was confirmed to be talking about seek and glitch which makes them connected in some way but ALSO because seek managed to create a whole new version of himself and infect the entities that's why the architects are so unfamiliar with the glitch entities because they were corrupted so recently

I have a theory about the admin panel, it was part of the content update and part of a glitch cutscene, stating that it was a “gift” from glitch. I have a theory. Glitch might be more powerful, as cheddar stated, but i think not. You see, when someone gets glitched, others who dont cant see it. Same thing with the fragment. If other players cant see it, why should the architects? It is still very possible that they are more powerful, considering that being glitched is cannon, because that is a way to get the fragment. I think the description of the badge has some meaning too. "I... I think im seeing things", is some what true, as others can't see what you see, and the fact that the glitched entities are glitch (maybe). If glitch is more powerful, then it wouldnt be by alot, and both guiding light and curious light would have enough power to take glitch down. While im at it, heres another one! Glitch could just be an error or bug in the system, or a fail safe. Considering the fact that when you go out of bounds, glitch teliports you back. And when this happenes to much, an item gets corrupted, causing a glitched fragment to take its place. This might not be all that true, because its a "trail and error"!

Perhaps Guiding Light doesn't know what got you because the entities are hallucinations, so it don't see them kill you, just you dying? (The console says "Hallucination destroyed" when a glitch entity despawns, if you want the evidence for the hallucination thing)

Y’know what I’m just gonna share some headcanons rn: Glitch is a peaceful god who resides just outside the reality of Doors and hangs out with non-canon entities such as Greed. They spend most of their time there for their presence in the main game can corrupt it (i.e. corrupted room generation and Glitch Fragments). The Glitch Fragments are practically pieces of dead skin or dandruff that simply come off of them time to time (they do also simply spawn around them). The Fragments players find are simply pieces that Glitch couldn’t bother picking up. Back outside reality, Glitch has a pet Drakobloxxer which they managed to pacify using their powers (REALITY MANIPULATION). They keep an NVCS which they snagged before the Mines update, despite their multiple abilities which make their NVCS redundant, they still keep it simply as an accessory/token. Glitch is also aware of the game devs themselves, and refers to them as “the higher-ups.” If Glitch were to ever meet and interact any entity in the actual game, they will immediately forget about Glitch the moment they get out of their sight.

I don't know why people do this. People will see that Curious Light saying that 'she' told him to call it Blitz and think that 'she' must be more powerful than Curious Light. Just because my friend told me to name my dog "Snowball" doesn't mean they are more powerful than me. While I do agree that Red Light is the most powerful Architect because she can stop Guiding Light from banishing things and create walls, this is clearly still a head cannon, not fact.

cheddar balls, Im not sure if you heard yet, but there is a way to get MULTIPLE glitch fragments in The Rooms every single run. Its pretty simple: 1. Get to Rooms (2 players or more) 2. Get left behind by the other player (and encounter Glitch) 3. Repeat step two 4 times 4. Go through a few rooms and you should find it in one of them (if you want to get multiple just start from step 2 to 4) This doesnt sound real, but it actually is. Try it yourself!

in my opinion, it isnt really a surprise that theres a more powerful creature then the architects, since "she said WE should call that once blitz". in my opinion, that implied a more powerful being then the architects. i dont think that this is glitch though. and I just call it the teacher in my head, until more lore drops. another thing that interested me is that glitch emulates seek as its regular form. this could mean that glitch doesnt really have an actual form, and instead can only show up as an emulation of another creature, or maybe it really is some glitched version of seek. Some interesting notes about Glitch and the Glitch Fragment that may or may not have lore significance (im not too sure yet). - Glitch fragment entities are allegedly clientside only, meaning that only the person who picked it up has to deal with the entities. Other players remain uneffected, which is interesting. This may be only a gameplay feature but I am not quite sure. * - When AROxMBUSH spawns in the chat control modifier, it can be crucified (likely unintentional). (Edit: Glitch fragments have guaranteed spawns now. Seems like you can crucify the glitched Rush aswell.) - Description of trial and error badge is "I.. I think I'm seeing things." overall idk what all of this means. more documentated footage is probably needed. *Edit: It is infact clientside only, there is footage of players chilling outside while AROxMBUSH is attacking.

My theory is that the glitches in game are half canonical, but like not part of the story, but more like parts of the world of the game, that happen sometimes. And when these "bugs" happen, they can sometimes break the entities' code and corrupt them (not purposely, bugs don't have mind, they just do things that they can). So sometimes when Rush/Ambush/Screech get bugged (fall out of bounds or smth) they get fell out of game's story, ENTIRELY, but stay as glitches. "Glitch" would be broken Seek or something like this if so. Nobody really knows what do these entities want, maybe they just don't even want anything, they just exist. And if so, the architects don't know about them because they don't really exist in the game's story, but in game they do. And glitch fragments are something like the rifts in the game's code, that if are interacted with, may make glitches. Also achievement for encountering a glitch, doesn't mean the Glitch (corrupted Seek), but just a bug that happened like that.

I don't think glitch even relates to the lore that much... Glitch must be a manifestation of any bug and glitch that happens within a game, it just decided to manifest as a glitchy humanoid in the universe of doors, just like it can decide to manifest as any entity. In other games, normaly it decides to manifest as the thing that breaks the game, the glitch or bug. Sure, he can beat the architects in a fight, but I don't think that will ever happen, because that's none of his interest. To summarize, glitch is probably just a gigantic troll that likes messing up with people when he wants to.
