I highly respect what you guys are doing for the animation community as a whole. I personally prefer these tight-budget indie animated shows over the large studio productions. I also really love that your own shows were imagined by lone indie animation creators, like Liam Vickers (man he can pack a lot of lore into one 20-minute video), who you reached out to in hopes of letting their imaginations thrive! I just gotta say, Indie Animation and Indie productions have just been a HUGE source of inspiration for me over the past few months. Seeing people do these things and thinking, "Wow, a person made that! Hey, I'm a person, I can make something too!" I like how the indie animation scene is sort of an inversion of the Hollywood/corporate animation business model. Where big-budget films sometimes are produced solely with the intent to market merchandise (think Star Wars/Marvel), in the indie scene the merch only exists to fund the production.

I remember the distinction made on the TV Tropes wiki -- the merchandise is typically derived from the series canon, but if a series is "merchandise-driven", the merchandise *IS* the canon, with the "series" being derived from that. it doesn't necessarily mean the series will end badly -- it really depends on how much source material (and creative freedom) the writers are allowed for making the series.

I really appreciate the culture of collaboration in the indie animation community. Unlike big studios, indie studios support each other instead of viewing one another as a competition. This collaborative approach is rarely seen in larger studios, except in the case of an acquisition, which is more about purchasing than helping.

I’m actually so happy seeing other indie animation companies working together to help support one another and push this new industry further in the hope that this can be taken as seriously as mainstream animation and it can become a sustainable way for people to make a living from their passion (Also hopefully less overworking and underpaying animators thanks to the indie animation industry because the amount of effort and hard work that goes into these works is incredible. They deserve so much praise for what they do)
