I love that you are highlighting these (new to me) UK products from Glitter Planet. These acrylics are gorgeous! We discussed odorless product in comments of last video, and I mentioned loving Kupa. I had tried two odorless monomers before (Tammy Taylor and Gelish) and could not work with them at all! They had me In tears, and I tried using them on multiple occasions! We must use odorless monomer to build a structurally correct acrylic nail to pass our state board test to get licensed in our state of residence or school, then our state of residency. I have found one truly odorless monomer that I can use to build a decent nail, and it is less expensive than Kupa. It is called Nail Supply Glammour, and is made by a small TX nail supply store of the same name. It is wonderful, like Kupa odorless. Neither require purchasing their specific powder, but Young Nails Low Odor (which is still strong imho) does require use of acrylic from same line. You can’t even use powder from their regular acrylic line, it just doesn’t set up correctly, like most odorless monomers don’t set up correctly. Kupa and Nail Supply Glammour set up a lot like regular monomer, in not much more time, they are great for those of us that get migraines from regular monomer, and are great for those who must use odorless monomer to get a US state license. Just an FYI. My husband doesn’t mind me practicing with either brand, but he can’t handle the monomer smell of Young Nails low odor. It is a wonderful product@. It acts a lot like regular acrylic if you use the right powder, but it isn’t odorless. My main nail school teacher sees clients in her dining room turned studio, and she uses Young Nails Low odor exclusively there, and it doesn’t bother her parents. I like a Young Nails products and their video tutorials. But I love Kupa and Nail Supply Glammour for acrylic nails, state board practice, and for use at home with my loved ones.

I can’t remember the name of the brand I used when I tried low odour monomer…. It’s gonna bug me until I do!! But I hated it! Really put me off! 🙈 I have swatched two acrylic collections with no headache so far without using a mask and I’ve been ok so I’m hoping it won’t be as bad as I thought! Especially as I won’t be using it all day every day you know?! 💕 xx

@@NatalieMugridgeNailArtist Glad there some you can use. I wear a mask while working at home, mostly because I have asthma that certain chemicals trigger, and n95 mask that has a valve for my breath exhaust, not safe for Covid, but safe enough for home use. My husband (a pediatrician) doesn’t want nail dust in my lungs.

Okay, I just want to say what a huge fan I am of your work. I think you are the best gem placer in the nail world, and you bring such beautiful nail sets to life. I love when you place your own spin on recreated sets, using products you have in your space. You have given me the confidence to pursue nail school, even though I am a n early GenX, and could be the mother or grandma of some nail techs out there. I love that you praise God with Bible verses, and use your artistic gifts to glorify Him.

Another comment more than a question. You are sorry this video that you put acrylic on underside of pop. I was swatching Light Elegance P+ gel polish the other day, and decided to top coat half with matte P+half with shiny top coat P+. After the first three, I was so sad I had made this decision, as the matte looked awful, but felt I needed to keep doing with remainder of pops, as this is how I started. I regret that! I did a lot of swatches! lol. I do not recommend P+ matte, even though I like matte top coats for many designs. I do recommend P+ shiny. I am in nail school, so can now purchase them, as they only sell to pros in US, but maybe they sell to all in UK? We have such strict licensing laws here, and every state is different, so if I move to a new state, I have to apply to the new state send in a fee, and hope they will grant me a license in that state. I am studying online through Zoom, in TX, which has stricter requirements and requires 200 more school hours than CA, so the school hasn’t had issues with CA accepting the TX license I will get. After completing all school requirements, I must apply to state of TX for permission to take their state board tests (1) written test, 2) practical exam where I must do a manicure, a tip application, an acrylic nail using odorless monomer, and a blood incident response procedure (in case I nick skin while cutting cuticle or manual filing). If I pass both exams, I will be granted a TX license, and can then apply for a California license. I love the UK system, where you take course you are interested in, are granted a pass or fail, receive certification, and then get insurance before you can work. I had to get insurance before my first day of school, but cannot legally work on paying clients until I have that license in hand. ( I may be wrong about the UK, but this is what I have gleaned from KZbin. I would love to get more accurate info if I am not grasping the concept correctly.). And have I mentioned that the only nail school within and hour’s drive one way of me, and the online school I am attending cost from 7,500$ to 8,500$? Then I pay both states fees for testing and more fees for license, then must attend classes every year, and have my license renewed with more fees every two years? Plus I am paying insurance on top. Maybe you should do a video about it sometime, I know you aren’t a pro nail tech, but I also know you have taken courses. I know we US viewers would be interested in how to become a pro in UK.

It’s quite the opposite over here to over there! I mean no disrespect but I’ve seen sets posted by newly qualified techs who shouldn’t have been passed. I think it’s a fail on the educator though. I am a qualified nail tech in hard gel and acrylic, I don’t why I just never had the confidence to take on clients! 🙈 xxx

@@NatalieMugridgeNailArtist I completely agree! While I love my nail tech school, so many cosmetology schools that provide “nail tech” courses only take the student’s money without providing true education. Some schools are just scams. I first joined one of those, many years ago, before WWW, so I am speaking with first hand knowledge. The US is so large, and nail tech or cosmetology schools few and far between unless one lived near the a metropolitan area, so nail students are stuck forking over huge sums of money for little to no actual education, but it is the only way to get the state to grant permission to sit for their board exams. Your work is so good, I am not surprised you are qualified! I understand not being able to face clients across the table, as I have General Anxiety Disorder, and I am reaching way outside my comfort zone to work on models. I want to serve God by doing ma is and especially pedis for the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. I feel led by the Lord to do this, so He must be giving me the strength to do it, even though my guts get twisted up just thinking about it. First step, nail school, second step, advanced pedicure training.

@@pinkys_pinkiesawww I love this! I prayed for my finances when my KZbin ad revenue dropped and God opened up the opportunity to work at the school. Wasn’t what I had in mind but it was an answer to prayer! He is so gracious! If it’s what He has planned for you I know you’ll get there! 🙏💕 xxx

I have so many questions and comments for you, so I think I will chose top three for this video. You mentioned the UK, not England. If you are able to generalize, would you say most English consider themselves UK, rather than English? From my US perspective, it seem the Welsh still consider themselves Welsh first, then UK, and the same with the Scots, and Irish from the portion of Ireland in the UK. But the Brits I watch generally just refer to the UK, not England. No I am wondering if many Americans consider themselves from a specific state first, before they consider themselves and American. As a mili9brst with one parent born and raised on the east coast, and one parent born and raised on the west coast, and having lived many years in the Midwest and South, I just consider myself an American, and if pushed farther, will claim my most enjoyable state to live in( and coincidentally was born in) as my home state, even though I have lived in California (a Possibly God forsaken state) the longest, and will never claim it. I think possibly Southerners and New Englanders claim their region first, over the US, but in general I believe most people just claim American first, then their state, then their region. Now I am wondering if this is just an assumption, not reality. Sorry not nail related, but it is video related.

Hope you had a wonderful bank holiday. I are they called that because they are the only days the Bank of England closes? We have Labor Day weekend this coming weekend, with all the Federal Government closed on Monday for Labor Day. It unofficially marks the end of Summer here in America. Traditionally, Summer only resorts and restaurants, retailers in resort areas, theme parks in states with winter weather, would open on Memorial Day weekend ( last Monday of May) and close on Labor Day weekend (the last Monday in August), so Summer is between these two holidays, and Fall unofficially begins on the Tuesday after Labor Day. These are two holidays most businesses close, along with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Most business don’t close for other Federal Holidays, except the government.
