Epoxy Glittering a Sublimation Tumbler Screw up. First and Second layer glitter mod podge method

Thank you I needed to see your video I have a lot of cups that I didn't like the way they came out, so now I'm going to try and fix them. If I can ask you, I have sublimation tumblers that I haven't use but my question is can I use it for a regular epoxy instead of using it for sublimation? Thank you. Olga

So you can use epoxy on a sublimation tumbler as long as it's sanded just like you would prep any tumbler for epoxy?

Hello! Thank you for the video after several "ugh I screwed up again" sublimation tumblers. You were able to salvage some of your design, but what do I do if I need to cover up an entire tumbler? Do I scuff it, spray paint it, modge podge and then glitter? Thanks!

I don't bother with spray paint if using an opaque glitter...only iridescent, but every else you listed is how I would do it.

I noticed the black design on top of the glitter in the very last picture. How did you keep that from getting glitter on it or did you add the design after the glitter or between epoxy layers? Did you do more that one layer? it is super cute!

I’m using dishwasher safe mod podge. Question should I do a top coat to finalize glitter for dish wash safe so glitter ✨ stays put?

I don't think so from what I can gather. First is a stuffed up sublimation print (cheetah print) then she's mod podging and glittering two layers over the mistake then when both have dried she is then using food-safe resin to cover the entire outside of the tumbler with the tumbler turner for even coverage. That's my understanding anyway - currently trying to do it myself. Just don't know how long between the first and second coat of glitter and mod podge.

How long do you let the 1st layer of glitter set before second layer. Then how long do you let the 2nd layer of glitter set until you add the resin? Im so new to this so I'm sorry for all the questions. What grain of sand paper do you use? and also how much times do you resin after done glittering?

Just an hour or so between layers 1 and 2. Overnight after layer 2 and epoxy. No worries on the questions 😀 i use whatever grit sandpaper i have on hand. I usually do 2 to 3 layers of epoxy before it's done.

So I did this over a messed up sub and after a few weeks of sitting, the sublimation print is showing thru the layer of spray paint and epoxy. Smh. Maybe I should have used a few layers of black as that is the color spray paint I used. Any suggestions? I used spray paint, glitter, alcohol inks and epoxy

Yes. I believe she says it at the beginning of the video. I think she said she sands it to get it a little scuffed up.

You select the weight from the drop down menu on the product page. They are sold on 1oz, 2oz, 4oz sizes. All are sold by weight, not volume (selling by weight gives more per oz than selling by volume in most glitter)
