And we’re joined by Dr. Alex Ezeh, Dornsife Professor of Global Health at Drexel University to discuss why, so far, the impact of Covid has been lower tin Sub-Saharan Africa than in the Americas, Asia and Europe. While the World Health Organization African Region reported more than 5.7 million confirmed cases and over 139 000 deaths, as of mid-September, 2021, the mortality rate of COVID-19 per million in Africa is considerably lower than in other WHO regions.
