Friedman is perhaps the most compelling geopolitical thinker today. He knows the inherent difference in geopolitics and national politics ... most people think differently.

Always great to listen to George Friedman I read all his books including and have a physical copy of "The coming war with Japan" which has remarkable similarities with the US-China tension buildup right now.

@@edgeldine3499 yeah I think George friedman was Peter zeihan’s boss. But they seem to have different idea about poland. And George doesn’t focus as much on demographics as Peter Zeihan.

Sounds funky when you put it like this "Jews and Arabs are after me" - George Friedman

George Friedeman's analysis's are most interesting. But I'm always surprised of the way he enhances the historical rivalries between European countries. As a french person and like most of my fellows compatriots germany for example is a major ally in this world and our media use to mention both countries as "the French-German couple". Italy, Spain, Portugal , Belgium..Are neighbouring countries we perceive as brothers. UK as a country is a bit more like a rival because they never felt as really European, but this only in a geopolitical aspect, in so far as when we talk about the people, we're also kind of brothers. The biggest conflicts inside EU have to do with countries like Hungary and to a smaller extent Polen were basic values like democracy tend to vanish.

Very insightful analysis. Read “the next 100 years” when it first came out and I have been astounded how well his predictions are holding up so far.

We won in the Philippines because we were implacable towards the insurgents. Something that may be impossible in the television age.

"They(nuclear weapons) disappear along with Teheran"... as an Israeli it doesn't sound too convincing. Reminds me some of our generals that have been saying after leaving Gaza "don't worry, we can reconquere Gaza in 2 days if something would go wrong"... Yeah right.
