Very informative. It should help those contemplating taking up this game. Hopefuuly when Global 1936v4 comes out there are not too many dfferences from the v3 map.

Definitely, of course V4 is fairly far out, but from what I've heard so far, changes to rules to make the game more straightforward in some places will be a big part, there are a few map changes I would suggest but besides that, I think V3 is the pinnacle of WW2 wargaming.

@@CobraWargaming My favorite A & A game of all time was Version 1 although it had some ambiguities. Version 2 was fun but had too many issues. I hope version 4 goes back towards version 1 in simplicity. Or maybe a fixed or slightly modified Version 1. It would be interesting to know their biggest seller of the 3 Versions.

@@CobraWargaming yea man, i like HBG pieces, prices and service, but taxes and transport to Costa Rica, are a no, no now, socialist max imports taxes, so if i buy 1$ of HBG, i pay in the end +$5,5. Sadly my last buy was last year, and a friend help my with the import. :(

I really appreciate your video (thank you!) and I love global war games and the ways we can customize it a bit, but it's outrageous how poorly packaged this game is. HBG lacks basic marketing skills on how to properly sell this product, leaving many potential customers at a loss. It's already hard to find players for out-of-box Axis & Allies, let alone monster (yet poorly marketed) games like this...

The 1942 Axis and Allies chips are smaller than the standard chips which you can use to identify different classes of a unit in tandem with the standard chips which denote more units

Great video! It really enlightened me on this subject, as I've been wondering for quite some time. One quick question; which map is the one you're using yourself? Of course you don't need to answer, but it'll give me quite a lot more insight as to what my board would look like as I'd be able to compare.

I use the 4x8 medium map, if you check my older videos or channels like Panzer king or fortress jinx use the medium map, so you can get a feel for the scale

Ive been outta the loop since Europe 1940 + Pacific 1940 = Global 1940 1st edition & this really sparks my interest. I was checking out "War Room" but this looks much more appealing & closer to the A&A games I grew up with & loved. Though that circular War Room game board is difficult to resist. Historical Board Gaming does have some cool pieces, perhaps not the highest quality but they do have the best roundel selection Ive found to date. I think all I would need is the Global 36 map, the rulebook & any new units (if any) introduced in Global 36, I could probably pick this up pretty cheap. Have you played Larry's War Room & if so which game would be more appealing to a life long A&A fan, "Global '36" or War Room? Thanks for all the tips, this game looks amazing.

Thats always an issue with games like this, one thing to look forward to as the year progresses is Gaming events, such as GenCon. Usually people or even companies like HBG will bring games to be played at public events. I think those are one of the best ways to be able to play larger board games and find other players.

@@alejandroojeda1129 I know GenCon moves around, but I've never really been all that informed on how these events work. Especially with Covid going around many events remain in limbo. Historical Board Gaming's channel usually will post about these events, but as I said, large gatherings have taken a down turn in the past year.

Idk HBG did that tho, I remember seeing smt on there for panzer king’s operation skyhook and winter solace; but idk they also did it for massive board gaming events. I had a copy of Axis and Allies Europe and Pacific 1940, and when I originally bought all my pieces it ran me around $400. I made sure to check for online sales to get the best price per unit, and when units where out of my price range like tech units, I would use plastic chips underneath to denote them
