I am a Japanese and when I watching this series sometimes I become so surprised that Hongki's Japanese is so natural and fluent. I think the most amazing thing is that he speaks Japanese just like Japanese boys who are same age as him speaks to their friends.

Go and watch the Full Versions, you will understand a lot of it... Mina feels that since Hongki is Korean, and since he his the man, that they should speak Korean together.. He lets her know on the Ferris Wheel, since she is Japanese. He wants her to speak her own Language so she feels better when she talking... That is why when you watch there EP, they will jump back and forth on there Language's.. You can tell there both happy, that they both understand each other.

They speak both languages. Mina studied korean when she was in university. Hongki is able to speak basic japanese, i think, coz he also has some works in Japan. Mostly they speak korean. :)

Both. Mainly Korean for the Korean audiences, I think (because WGM is still a Korean show) but as you can see from the bts/making, they switch to Japanese when comfortable. Hongki's pretty much fluent in conversational Japanese.
