this video really put the 'G' in GCN. ;) i had no idea you folks were going to be at the P2A, so it was a bit of a shock to see manon at the finish - a good shock! when the race is pretty much in your backyard it is hard to see the size of it, but the fact that it attracted this kind of coverage is really great to see. also, kudos to GCN for just being a seemingly awesome group of people - no one seems to have an attitude and the general positivity in the group/YT channel is a breath of fresh air. keep up the great work!!

I am a Local guy and did the “45 km” a few years back. Had to ride to pick up race number from someone prior, overdressed, and it is actually a little longer than 45 km. Push a little too early to end and ended up cramping both legs going up final hill. Laying in ditch in pain with another rider with same issue - another rider comes up and says “I know you are not supposed to take drugs from strangers but you guys need this worse than me” and gave up an electrolyte pill. Yes we took them and able to finish. Great job on the vid !
@pedalbikah2 жыл бұрын
Strangers usually have the best drugs 😂
@williamdowling77182 жыл бұрын
I too have taken "drugs from strangers" during long running races (marathons and ultras) when I was cramping really bad. IMO... The athletic community (particularly competitive/semi-competitive racing) is worthy of trust in this regard. The odds of someone paying money to take part in a grueling endurance race just so they could potentially have the opportunity to hand out something nefarious to strangers is virtually zero. I don't have a single worry about accepting something like that. Competition or not, we're family when we're out there on the course together..
@lossantoscity32492 жыл бұрын
My dad is just a pain the ass. He just doesn't wanna take any of my electrolyte tablets. We did 20km Enduro he barely survive. Now he drinks 30 mins before rides and every 30 mins. No cramps anymore.

I just learned she is no longer with GCN, and that’s a real shame. Great video Manon! That looks like a super fun event. And a really hard event. I get the impression that the race leaders had an easier time with some of the boggy sections. The single track trails were probably reasonably passable for the first couple of dozen riders. But those trails turned into a sea of mud for the later riders. Good show. Glad to see you out in a competitive event.
