Today I’ll tell you why I’ve decided to shoot this video.
We need to make a stand-up turn-down collar for the warm dress, and today we are going to make several collars for you to understand how to do it.
Today I'm not going to fit the dress and attach the frill, I’ll only work with the collar.
The dress was designed perfectly. The neckline, the shoulder seam - everything is good.
I’ll draw a collar. I draw it just as an example. You don't need such one. It doesn’t matter if the edges are square or round.
I want you to see all the details.
I’ll show you what you should do for a collar to become a stand-up turn-down collar.
I'll show you some more variants.
I’ll take the pins out, open the dress, and put it on on our dummy. After it I’ll try the collars on.
We are going to make one more collar then.
Many people know how to make a flat collar, and how to make a stand-up turn-down collar without any patterns or the photos in the magazines. I'll teach you how to do it.
You’ll see how differently looks our neckline after closing the shoulder.
Notice that I don’t even try to do it thoroughly, I just want to show you the technique.
The first collar will be absolutely flat, the second - slightly stand-up turn-down, and the third - stand-up turn-down.
Why I show you that? For you to know how to do it without the pattern.
Imagine, you want to make a collar, but you don’t have a pattern, so you can't do it. Such collars are in trend now - of any colors. White collars are often made on the dark clothes.
I want to show you how to make such collars, and you should understand that the form can be different - angled, round and so on.
If you follow my instructions, it will always look good.
