I worked in Sarawak from 1989 until 1992. Had very fond memories with Sarawakians and I loved the rain here.

Fort Margherita once a place for me n my siblings play whenever we're in kuching during school holidays coz its situated on top of a hill beside my Kampung that's Kampung Boyan, so yeah its kinda cool to think about the old day when I was young and innocent coz never knew that the place that we've played is a very historical place...

I'm the great grand daughter of Esc, Charles Brooke's 1/2 Iban/Sea Dyak child who settled in Canada. I'm looking for authentic information about his as originally his existence was carried until the late 80's. Who are some local historians who have the Malay perspective on this? I'd like to connect with someone about this- Esca was sent away at the age of 6 years and was denied his relationship to the Brooke family, his family. I understand his mother died when he was young but I would like to learn more about this besides what is in movies, plays and such. Thanks in advance for any leads!! Heather

Hey Heather! Thanks for the message. I suggest you contact the Brooke Trust. They are a non-profit organisation with all the info about the Brooke’s, run by your possible distant cousin Jason Brooke. Here’s their website: www.brooketrust.org/ Have fun learning about your history!

It is NOT ONLY Sarawak have white Raja. Malaya or malaysia was a British colony. 5 states in the peninsula malaysia were lands surrendered to the British by the Siam Kingdom (Thailand) . There are Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Pahang. The British grouped those lands together with other pieces of small land and GRANT independence on the major condition it becomes a secular country of multi racial, multi religion , multi cultural, multi language country. The petition for independence were signed by the non Muslim Chinese, non Muslim Indians and the Muslim Malays (Melayu) . Without the agreement of the non Muslim Chinese the British would NEVER agree to the grant of independence. It is because Malaya or malaysia can never be an Islamic or Muslim majority country the Islamic political party PAS did not agreed to the independence . The GRANT of independence by the British can be REVOKED by the British anytime regardless whether Britain is strong or weak AS malaysia has already irremediably breached the major condition for the grant of independence when the malay Muslim had the audacity to declare malaysia as an Islamic or Muslim majority country. The 3 major ethnic group of non Muslims Chinese, non Muslim Indians and the malay Muslims are descendants of immigrants. The malay (Melayu) Muslim originated from Jawa, Indonesia. In the Jawanese language the word Melayu means fugitive. Their ancestors were criminal who ran away and the land they ran away to is called Tanah Melayu which today is Malaya or malaysia . The malay language is only a tribal language of a small tribe originated from Jawa, Indonesia . The true natives of the land are called Orang Asli or Orang Asal and they are mainly Christians and non Muslim but were forced to convert to Islam with their identity card purposely marked them as Muslim in order for the malay Muslim to usurp their positions. Without lies, islam dies. Stay away from Islam .

just go back to fujian city, will you, where your forefathers probably sailed off from when mainland china was suffering mass famine & many addicted into opium newly introduced by british traders. oh btw, saying malays are from java is akin to saying han tribe originates from upper mongolia 😂.
