I worked for a respirologist twenty-five years ago who said there were studies being done about microscopic bits of rubber in the air from all the tires we drive on. Imagine how much stuff is out there if they have known about this stuff for over twenty years...?
@ivanprusac5779 Жыл бұрын
Car tires are the worst for this. Happens as the car is simply driving. As it drives it sheds so much micro plastic dust. We live near a highway, and our windowsills have a quarter inch buildup of micro rubber dust on the bottom slider track of the window every 2 weeks.

How many of these micro plastics have been around for a number of years and we just weren’t informed about them?!? Sounds like they’re more concerned about tclimate change and the effects on the earth than about the effects of these plastics on the humans.

lol, you need people to "inform" you? You've already lost. Try being totally responsible for yourself.

Climate change is nothing but a political agenda. Global warming is not real. The earth does this naturally and even if we do NOTHING it will still reverse and be extremely cold in the near future. Less than 200 years maybe 100
@chillblue1650 Жыл бұрын
They ARE informing you. People just don't educate themselves about this because it's way too inconvenient for them to try to make a difference. It's common sense in the first place that microplastic fibers will enter the air and you'll breathe them in. It doesn't take a scientist to figure that out.

Why “could be”, “may be”, surely we expect more insights and actual evidence of the correlation between inhaling these and lung seaward, from researchers? There are lot more than micro plastics making their way into our body!

Why are shredded tires being used in playgrounds?

Most of these plastics are chemical in nature and I would be more concerned with cancer in the long term. It's the reason water bottles have expiration dates. Water becomes low level sulphuric (battery acid) when exposed to plastic for extended periods of time. Our bodies can sort it out when we are young but less so as we get older.
