With American technology and military prowess to accomplish extraordinary things, why they can't either A) address what these are as they fly in obvious sight, and B) won't shoot them down or follow them back to their recharge station. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't buy it from these political slime balls. It's seriously disrespectful to the concerned public. If I flew my drone over a neighbourhood every night let alone over a sensitive political / military area, my drone would be destroyed or I'd have men knocking on my door within minutes I'm sure.

So if they are Iranian, as the congressman says, and they are testing the waters and are going to return with weapons (and they could carry a substantially sized weapon), is it still illegal to not take them down? Russia and Ukraine are being pummeled by drones, with significant loss of infrastructure and life. Right now, we obviously have a huge, huge vulnerability, and it could be far worse than 9/11 if we don't seal this vulnerability quickly.

That was my first thought: military surveillance & mapping also possible Lidar for oil & mineral detection. Easier to do at night less people in the way. We are using high altitude balloons for surveillance of cartels in the mountains & to detect threatening communications.& Yes we are being watched. They have the ability to shut off tracking of the aircraft. I recommend Monkey Werx explains alot.
