Not sure how well this is going to be enforced... but its a step in the right direction! Children should be outside playing, learning and having fun. Social media is poison not just for children, but for society as a whole!

The Bill is a great deception - it has nothing to do with social media and protecting minors...it is about assigning a Digital ID to *everyone*, per Klaus Schwab's wishes.

I'm not sure how they plan on enforcing this. If it comes at the cost of mandatory digital ID it's not worth it. Kids shouldn't use social media. I believe it is poison to the mind.

everyone talking about this digital ID but i dont think that will happen. Dont people in Aus. already have something that IDs them, like Americans social security number? They'll just have to put that in and it will tell whether they are old enuff or not, end of story.

Kids under 16 should be playing outside, making up dances on play dates, riding bikes or going sledding. Try new hobbies and grow up off screen as most of us half broken adults did… aim to be half broken and not full

If only that were possible in most Canadian cities. But unless you live in metropolitan Montreal or Vancouver; most kids can't do that because of the way our cities are built. There's a NotJustBikes video called "Why We Won't Raise Our Kids in Suburbia" that highlights how much of a problem this is. Not only because of the city design but also the bureaucracy involved.

The whole idea of it is great even though implementation of it will be tricky ,Kids also use social media to show case their talents to the wider world so i wish the emphasis was on content moderation by these companies rather than a total ban ,But i am sure the law will evolve it is a step in the right direction

As a 29 year old who grew up seeing the birth of social media, i can say it had a negative effect on my generation. Now kids are given phones or tablets before they are even 10. Parents should raise children, NOT social media. It should become apart of the culture. I know... SO radical lol
