It's always so nice to hear foreigners appreciate Tagalog songs. Just so you know, the lyrics are very, very poetic, and I think if you knew what they mean, you'll fall in love with the song even more. Some of the words are really deep Tagalog words that few people use in conversations. Anyway, if you watch the final episode of the series where this song was first played (Gaya sa Pelikula), you will see translated captions for the lyrics in so many languages (including Portugese). I can't believe they put so much effort on that one.

Understand? Not a word. Crying anyways? Hell yeah. God, the arrangement and emotion in his voice are so raw, and when the motif from the show played during the guitar solo, you realize how far we feel like we’ve come with these two. And if this is how we'll say goodbye, In time it will fade, ever so slowly, We'll carve on the tree bark our names, That if we get lost, that will be our marker. In times of fighting, contempt and intemperance, There will still be love, please don't leave. Because of this we measure the distance, the center of this world, No one will surpass. In us, in us, we return, Magnet of tired hearts, Come back to love. Laughter that will only by punctuated by hugs, by kisses, There's still love when you return, Because here, here, we measure the distance, the center of this world, No one will surpass. In us, in us, we return, Magnet of tired hearts, Love will come back (4x). Will you return, my love?

When GSP was on the heights of it's popularity, I intentionally did not watched it. I wanted the trend to calm down first. In [ ] are phrases and words that are not really included, but implied in the Tagalog lyrics. Please bear with me. It's very difficult to do a literal translation while staying faithful to the contextual and implied meaning of the lyrics and the emotion and message it conveys. Here it goes: And if this is how we will be saying goodbye [Our love] will fade in time, painfully slow [I] will carve our names on a tree So when we get lost, we have somewhere to return to Through petty fights and banters Or intemperance Our love can stand still, Please don't leave [or give up on it] Chorus: Coz this is the origin with which we measure the distance [we've journeyed apart] The center of [our] universe Nothing will ever come close [to what we had] [What we had] will always remain home [for both of us] Magnetic are [our] tired hearts [And] will [someday] return to love [Our] good times may be ending With kisses and embrace My love persists Awaiting your return (Repeat chorus)

Because Kilometer Zero is where everything starts, the origin of it all. The lyrics says “Dito, dito nasusukat ang layo, ang sentro ng ating daigdig.” Interpreting it in highway systems, kilometer zero is where the center of the place is.

Kilometer Zero is a nice metaphor because wherever you are in Luzon, there is an engraved stone beside rural and urban roads pointing how may kilometers away are you from the nearest town and Manila. "Kilometer Zero" is the reference point of all that stone engraving in Luzon and it is located exactly across the statue of Jose Rizal in Rizal park, Manila. If you cross the road going to Quirino Grand Stand, the stone engraving there says Kilometer 0. If anyone gets lost anywhere, you can look into this stone engravings to check if you are going near or far from Manila.

"Sa'tin, sa'tin pa rin ang uwi" I remember that scene in ep.6 when Karl was asking if Vlad was gonna come home. Karl wished that Vlad would come home because he feels like he doesn't belong and doesn't have a home. And then the part where they danced and kissed, Ride 'Home' was playing. "So I'm coning home to you"... Vlad is Karl's "home", his safe space. "Magbabalik ang pagmamahal, magbabalik ka pa ba mahal" After the events that transpired in ep.7 I am hopeful that whatever feelings Karl and Vlad have for each other will not only "return", but stem deeper than before. They both will come back to each other again.

You know how there are some languages that sound harsh to non-speakers, some that just sound like words, even without knowing the meaning, and some that just sound beautiful? If this is representative of Tagalog, then we can truly put it into the category that can reach into your heart and stir such emotion that you never want it to leave you again. BTW, thank you to everyone that has tried to translate it for us. Your words are very much appreciated.

Ang hirap pala kasi naging tahanan ko na rin tong kantang 'to, pati yung palabas. Pero at the end of the day, ang hirap i-diassociate ng likha mula sa manlilikha nito. Everything that has transpired starting the third week of June 2021 has wrecked me and my memories of GSP. I learned a thing or two through this show, even a bit of accepting myself. But again, we need to let go of the nostalgia, to move forward while pushing the agenda for a more inclusive world that is accepting of the different forms of love. Paalam GSP, it was nice having you as my temporary resting place especially in 2020. However, it's time to move on.

Ngayon pa lumitaw 'tong kantang to na bigla biglang lumilitaw sa memories ko sa fb activities namin nung yumao kong ex ??? To my Baloloy, you will forever be my Kilometer Zero. This might sound conceited but I will forever look for you in every man that I will meet. You were my big brother, you called me kuya yet most of the time you looked out for me; you never failed to lavish me with your sweetness and love; we dreamed together, built plans for the future, we mapped out adventures. Too bad, we were restricted by distance yet, the little time that we spent together made everything real. Though you left early I thanked the universe that we made our way to each other. I am forever grateful to God that he let me borrow you for a short time. The only thing that I regret during our short time together is I failed to brave my love for you and from that cowardice sprung a lot of "could have beens" which I don't wanna think about. I let trivial things come in the way and for that, I am sincerely sorry. I hope that in the next lifetime, the universe will be generous again to us to lead us back together in each other's arms. Until then, you enjoy your time up there; no more pains, no more worries, no more sickness, only bliss, and happiness. Please watch over me and maybe you can make a pitch to The Man up there to strengthen me always. I love you JL, I am certain that people will come my way; some will hurt me, some will love me but please know that you forever leave a void inside my heart that nobody else can fill except you.

Kilometer Zero (Luzon, PH) is a marker located in front of Rizal’s monument, a location before we go to Quirino Grandstand. You can find it on the lyrics. Thats why this song was titled KM 0. My mother used to tell this before when I was a child. Even your parents know it, kahit walang google. Tanungin nyo ngayon na. Alam nila yan for sure. Alam nyo naman tong si Gege. Daming simbolismo. Hindi nya basta basta ibibigay lang ang kahulugan. Will the story end here at KM 0 or will the real story begins here? Anggaleng 👏👏👏

Kilometer zeros 1st zero - It began with a serendipitous meeting somewhere in Malate. I was studying transes for Biochemistry when you suddenly entered. I was entranced. I performed my own written monologue, inspired by my feelings for you, under the tutelage of theater people but I performed it badly in public. You rejected my heart. And afterwards, I was heart-broken after a month. I kept the heartbreak very well hidden so much that no one in our small class in Medicine ever knew I was hurting inside. It all came out 1 year after. I vividly remember studying cardiac pathology when I suddenly cried in public in Coffeebean somewhere in Tomas Morato. 2nd zero - I first saw you somewhere in Bonifacio High Street. It was a Sunday and 3rd year Medicine was so stressful. I needed relaxation and then I met you. I was gutsy then and I instantly asked you out. On our first date, it was a Chinese New Year somewhere in Binondo. You fed me freshly baked hopia and until now, it was the best tasting hopia I ever had. It helped that I enjoyed the hopia under red paper lanterns illuminating the busy streets of Binondo. We met again this year after chatting again. It was before Covid 19 struck this country, before the community quarantines, before the death of a 30 year old physician, before the panic attacks and insomnia. You gave me a kiss before this pandemic, before I had to do my duty as a physician. Afterwards, you ghosted me, never to return again. Again, I return to these painful moments; not to torture myself with regrets but with acceptance as they formed part of my journey.

@@jericobongosia3992 very true, the essence of the song, the true meaning cannot be translated, you only have to feel the words to understand. Tagalog words cannot be translated directly because they don't have exact words in English and may lose their meaning if translated them into English or may not feel the same way as the original word. Example of songs that Filipinos love but Foreigners cannot understand why because the lyrics, when translate to English sounds plain and simple. I wanted to translate this to English for foreign fans, but damn, the lyrics are so local. I'm afraid it might not give the song the justice it deserves. This makes me feel privileged as a Filipino with all of the Pinoy BLs going around.
