I’ve been cycling through characters but I haven’t gotten to Momo yet. She seems useful in some scenarios, but I don’t typically find myself dead from her, if you know to dodge her shield the game is kinda over for her. Interesting to see her being used a bit better here

I usually play her long range with cannons, I only shield to either attempt to escape situations or to force an opponent to pick a direction to run with the help of the cannons… I just really like her cannons…

Momo is really fun, i personally lvl up the alpha up a bit then the shield and leave the cannon since i can never land a hit with it, its just a possible distraction or after the knock down from the alpha attack i place the cannon where i think they will recover. i do wish the cannon had a bigger aoe for a little splash damage since its hard to hit with the cannon directly

She can.... It's difficult due to the long activation so you have to know where she's going. Some Momo players know this is what you're looking for however. A fight between those 2 is basically a stalemate as neither can do significant damage to the other consistently (unless Ochako's bug activates and she can't grapple)

I can't stand the Momo players that wait and hide for final circle, then start spamming their shield. Easy nerf is to make it harder to turn, once you commit your pretty much charging in that direction. At least she fights you face to face though unlike the jump from rooftop to rooftop characters...looking at you Tsuyu! 😅

There is counter play though. Bakugo can break it in less than 3 shots. She can't hit you on high ground/ in the air, Dodging at the last second is really effective, She doesn't want to be near Mt lady when she transforms, Dabi's traps take her out of it, Tsuyu can just avoid being on the ground, Ochako can grab her (this is difficult though), Ida has more mobility than her, Shiozaki goes through the shield when she attacks and Cementos can block her path Tldr: Not knowing how to counter something doesn't make it broken especially for a new game or at a low level. Right now I'd say Bakugo is more of an issue especially with Deku

@@javianbrown8627 Dabis traps don't take her out of it, I mained Dabi for awhile and she can step right over the traps and keep going. Now I play Tadoroki and she can break through my ice wall, and step over an ice path without getting frozen or even stunned. You also can't roll out of the way so easily when they can turn that direction, hence my point they should commit to going forward. Shiazoki can go through the shield, but then that just makes every encounter situational, you think every team has a Shiazoki? Sure you can escape to high ground or block her path with Cementoss, but then how do you fight? Kind of defeats the point don't you think, instead of actually fighting and countering with quirks we're all just running away coming back to cheese the kill. Like I said though Momo is the last of our problems, its characters like Bakugo, Tsuyu, All Might, and maybeeeee Deku that are driving me nuts. Run away, sneak back, blast with some crazy strong power, run away again......its so boring.

Figured I should mention this since I don't know how well known it is. But Ibaras alpha quirk straight up pierces Momo's shield and you can even hit her out of her shield sprint. Only character that seems to be able to just directly counter it like that

I don’t know if people know this but shiazaki alpha quirk consistently destroys shield when fully leveled up. It’s a one shot and she deals massive damage. Only issue is if momo is already in close range she may not have the time to get the alpha quirk out.

Momo is a hilariously fun character main and is the character I enjoy dueling with the most out of all the ones in game. I also like Uraraka because spin to win is just really fun to use.

Her shield has been nerfed, but I love her still. I've seen the cannons used as a surprise attack, especially on higher ground. A little food for thought.

Momo's shield also has a special interaction with Itsuka Kendo's shield: Itsuka will block the shield's attack, but Momo's armor will stay until she recovers from the stagger (due to technically melee'ing Itsuka's shield). Incredibly frustrating for the Itsuka, because she cannot even punish the most reckless of Momoshields that way.

Honestly if every hero has an OP BROKEN move, they wont nerf anyone. Uraka needs a fix indeed. I rather they give other heroes a tweak like maybe if they gave Mt. Lady some I-frames when changing sizes it would be great. She gets forcused hard before even moving.

She does. Ibara can pierce through it effortlessly but others have a hard time. Bakugo,Ochaco and Kirishima can stop it but you will take damage. Bakugo can pierce through it in 2 shots at level 9. Ochaco can make her float with her gamma but its hard to time Kirishimas gamma stops it too but you take damage in return

The fact that she forcefully knocks people down after only 3 hits of her R2 and Bakugo and deku can deal 100 damage 8 to 9 times in a row with no knockdown legitmately baffles me. And they can hit AT THE SAME TIME and kill people instantly. A lot of balance choices in this game make 0 sense

Nah, but you have to learn counterplay. High mobility and ranged attacks will destroy her. Just go up and shoot or try to run away from shield dash. Cannons are slow to catch you in the air or high up.
