I cut the little thing off the front of my 19x and i can use gen5 mags now. Only reason i did it was because i bought 2 10packs of g17 mags and they were gen5s

Prince of Pickles I have both the 19x and Model 45. I like both but lean towards the 45 due to the ability to use old and new gen 5 mags.

What is special about a glock 19 gen 3 compared to others.. fairly new to glocks.. lol.. who would think a glock 45 was a 9mm.. I understand but its nuts

Love my 19X such a good shooter and fun as all get out but end up carrying my G19 g3 far more often.

The main thing I like about the Glock 45 is that it doesn't have the cutout up front like the Gen 5 guns. If you're going to have a mag funnel, you might as well have a real one and a full-length front strap. If someone is that concerned about pulling out the mags, they can get the Vickers or Ghost base pads and grab them from the side. I've discovered that the Ghost ones work quite well in my 19x.

Front cocking serrations are as useless as tits on a boar hog and they don't even look cool on a Glock. These two guns are on my list to replace my Glock 23 Gen 4, the only 9mm I currently own is a P365 and I am looking for a mid to full size pistol in 9mm.

@@TacticalResponseCrew just finished a class & plan on joining a Service Pistol competition as a novice which gives me access to good training & shooting ranges reserved for members but most shooters are half my age so I just want to safely have fun at a place not overcrowded like public ranges . Those front slide serrations are for those presscheck Junkies. Like in one of those Steven Seagal movies. ( if you ever get a chance to meet Gene lebell, ask him what he thinks about Steven Seagal. Hahahaha) I swear that some of those guys that shoot matches, think it's a badge of honor to have somebody see them do a fancy press check before they start a stage.

Can someone explain to me the benefit of a 19X? A larger grip to hide and shorter sight radius. I dont get it for CCW.

I CCW a G17 and it wasn't designed for that, I don't know where people came up with idea that the G19X was designed for CCW. there is a bunch of handguns with the same format and haven't complain about them, seems to me that the issue is more with the name Glock than the actual format. Beretta PX4, FN 509, Colt Commander just to mention a few.

And the same question stands for Commander length 1911s, 509s, PX4s, etc. If it is a hand/grip size issue for the yeti-fisted folk, why not run a true full size? If it is for duty use, why a full grip and shortened barrel/sight radius? If it is for CCW, why not run the full size gun? If you're already hiding a full grip, why not run a full gun? I may be missing something because I cant make that math work. Dont get me started on the G48 and G43X Glock 19 size with G26 capacity Huzzah!
