I got this gun after seeing all the great videos and reviews online. I bought a brand new one. Put 300 rounds through it. My hand was beat to hell after. Trigger finger was throbbing. Welts on middle finger and pinky. Used to my 1911....definitely not the same ergonomics at all. Kept switching my gripping around. I'll take it out again, but will put 150-200 rounds through max during an outing. May need grip tape. Flawless shooting though...but extended shooting becomes a chore.

I've owned the G27 for 3 years and I can attest, it's a little bit snappy. I just bought the G30SF a few weeks ago. The G30SF is so soft to shoot; the difference is amazing. I was already for a jolt when I fired the G30SF the first time, that I jilted my hand when i fired it in anticipation of a hard kick-but I was wrong. I can safely say, it's a nicer choice for the feminine man or a woman to carry and use than the G27. Hickock45 says the reduction in recoil is from the large heavy slide.

Hey OTG...great job on your review of the G30SF. Always appreciate your perspective. I don't own any Glocks (yet). Did not realize that the 30 was so similar in size to the 19. The Gen4 G19 is on my short list.' I am also a big fan of the XD45 Service. I have put several thousand rounds through mine without a singe issue.
@virtualtube112 жыл бұрын
@sharpie132 I guess you are aware by now that the Gen4 issues have been resolved. I too have a G19 Gen4. I bought it with the latest recoil spring(0 3 4) but I had to get the latest ejector installed. I live in GA so I drove to them and had it replaced in about 15-20mins. I had this done about a couple of months ago and have not had a jam since (knock on wood :)). I'm too am thinking about purchasing the G30SF and will most likely do so this weekend. The 30SF does not come in a Gen4.

I agree. My glock 33 is great for EDC plus I have a g27 barrel that fits perfect. .40cal ammo is cheaper and easy to find than .357 sig ammo. My korean war vet father WARNED me to always stay with the .45acp, so I bought the g36.

I had the opportunity to try out the new G30S recently and personally I noticed zero difference in felt recoil between that and the G30/G30SF. Seems there's no longer a need for that chunky slide.

Not a big fan of the sub compact Glocks in 40sw and 9mm, b/c the short grip. I do like my G29 w/ the extended grip on the mag. I consider my G29 a P3 for sure.

Personally I cant stand the feel and ergonomics of he XD's. I love the hk's, sigs and 1911's but there is something almost magical about how the glock fits my hand and shoots. Again it's all personal preference but for me I would pick and carry a glock (esp 9mm and .45SF models) over any other pistol currently available.

My edc is a Glock 30sf with 13+1 round mag in an Aegis Armory clam shell holster. @OilTheGun Thanks man. I recently just purchased a Glock 19 and it's definitely not going to be the last Glock I purchase. I shot my friends 30 and loved it, but haven't seen a 36 I wonder how much slimmer a single stack 36 is to the double 30. If it's not a HUGE difference then i'd probably shoot for the 30. Owning a 1911 I do like single stack tho nice and thin but we'll see. Thanks for another great review!

They didn't have hollow points for autos until the '70s! 9mm with hollow points is very effective, and in .40 too. The 1911 as Colt designed it was meant to shoot .41ACP, a rimless smokeless continuation of Colt's very effective .41 Long Colt round, but the Army wanted a .45. .40 S&W is similar to the .41ACP concept, but ca. 1988. : D

I'm pretty sure the G30SF is still Gen 3. The G30 Gen 4 is up on the Glock website and they seem to be making a big deal out of the fact that it is a Gen 4, whereas the 30SF has nothing indicating it is the newer generation.
