Social media has us believing we need a dot, suppressor height sights, and a flashlight on all our guns. It’s not necessary. Im glad my edc is completely stock. Its Very easy to conceal and lightweight.

Red dots are producing a generation of shooters that don't know how to use iron sights. Weapon mounted flashlights on EDC guns, guns meant for defense, are ill advised. Flashlights are offensive tools, you're searching for a target. Not to mention menacing anyone you're flashing the light on.😉

Red dots are fine for distance shooting. But for defensive EDC, where split second, defensive shooting occurs at approx. 8ft and sights aren't used, shooters are just "point shooting," red dots are high tech furniture.@@jnew417

Nice video. It’s refreshing to see someone talk like a regular person who actually spent their own money on a product. As for magazines, I definitely prefer the stock Glock magazines. They’ve spent a long time designing a reliable magazine. The magazine is basically as important as the gun, and the entire reason I purchased a Glock was for reliability. I have yet to hear somebody complain about a malfunction with a stock magazine. Better to have 10 rounds that you’re certain will fire instead of 15 that you’re 80% sure will fire.

I absolutely love the idea of the closed emitter but I hate the look of the eps carry. Aesthetically the 407/507k just look so much better to me, they look like they belong on the 43x. I wanted so badly to like the EPS but I just couldn’t get past the 📦 look of the eps. Great video thanks for sharing and stay safe.

Great review! I did the same by starting with PSA micro dagger mags so that I wouldn't have to use the Shield version and swap out my mag release, which would make it hard to use my OEM mags. I will note, that in a class and during a USPSA match, using my PSA mags, that I had 5 failure to feed issues. That relegates these mags to range conveniences, for me, until they break in and show me differently. The OEM mags are perfection and I will rely on those in the meantime. Again, great review! I love my 43X!

Just to let you know. It will fit directly on to the slide. All you have to do is remove the 2 stubs on the top(or bottom) I forget, and then shorten the other 2 by just a smidge. You can do that with a file. That’s what my gun store did, and that’s what I did with my 43x. I am able to co witness with the stock Glock iron sights.

Hey man question. So if I go the eps carry route, but get my plate from C&H precision.. I do know that their plates are the thinnest.. what sights would you recommend for a lower 1/3? I’m on the fence with shaving or milling because I just don’t wanna take the factory coating off and have to recoat if that makes sense. I get the argument for it. It’s more convenient with a direct mount. It’s just compromising the DLC on the slide to me is an iffy thing.
@RedRiverProductions
@RedRiverProductions 23 күн бұрын
I feel you, I went through the similar thoughts. I wanted a direct mount at first. Then I ran the plate that came with the eps carry, and I didn't mind it. So, I was able to keep my upper from getting milled. I have suppressor height sights but I'm going to go back to my stock irons sights to give me more window in my optic. If that makes sense. I'd run it all stock other than putting the optic with the install plate that it comes with on it if it were my pistol.
@joshuarivera4815
@joshuarivera4815 23 күн бұрын
How has their plate held up for you? What gives me a headache with this is I want the EPS carry optic. But then I want a reliable plate which C&H from what I heard is great. But then I know I will have to swap out the sights too in case of a red dot failure.

I don't really get why people poo poo lights on carry guns? The same people will tell you you need a light on a home defense gun so that you don't shoot the wrong person. Well, you might be in a self defense situation in a dark or poorly lit parking lot. You bettet have a great lawyer and a shit ton of money if you wound/kill an innocent bystander. I can just hear the procecuting attorney now - "you fired a gun in the dark without a clear picture of the target and that person behind your target?" I'll spend the $150 and carry that extra two ounces to avoid that situation.

Holsters can be difficult. This video answered a question,or 2 ,that I was trying to figure out. Going to comment up top in n a few minutes. Just reading some of the comments and replies 1st. But 1 thing I will say here about inexpensive Amazon kydex .. I bought a polecraft holster from Amazon (blaze orange,basket weave pattern kydex that was apparently not selling well compared to the black ect. $13. Saved some money. The holster fit like a charm.been using it for several months now.Not 1 problem.Every bit as good as a Tulster or something like that. Rounded under at the muzzel like I’ve found is the best thing for me .recommend them & return if not.) The plastic clip was the only thing that was visible under a Tshirt .had to modify one of the holes to fit a DCC mono block (found a listing that didn’t say “DCC” but looked identical. It was a few $s less and was definitely a DCC.came with stickers,a short hand written thank you note,business card with picture of the staff standing outside the building ect.really cool small business. )that I also got from Amazon & that made a world of difference. Another suggestion for kydex im general.. I used some glue (flex 2000,6000 or something…good flexible clear glue ,a lot of brands out there but it’s inexpensive at hobby lobby,with some leather scraps that are inexpensive too.a lot of scraps of different stuff,thicknesses ect. Find them at hardware store sometimes too. A piece off a old boot or something would be fine too )Cut the leather a little bigger than the holster ,glued it to ,holster and wore it for a while and let the leather form around all the possible hot spots. Do that & it will eventually show you exactly where you want to trim the leather back to. I went with the rough side of the leather out towards my skin. I think that’s the best way & no complaints,but buying another pole craft for another gun,most likely the PSA micro dagger(glock 33 left a bad taste in my mouth a while back.had to have the hottest round & be a bad ass.it kicked like a mule,bullets were expensive and loud as hell. I could go on but won’t)but now with PSA making clones,higher capacity,bundles,blems,sales ect ect .getting some of their stuff. Their mission statement is the real deal.look into it! I plan on buying anything & everything through them.Their brand or otherwise.if you’re in SC area,go to a store. I went to 2 last summer. Take cash & be ready!The guys behind the counter will have you set up with all the discounts and codes that aren’t even published anywhere that I know of…you’ll wind up with a price on a AR or something that they have that’s hard to walk away from)Leather on back of kydex..going to try it smooth side out & see how that goes. Maybe layer it up a little bit ,foam,gel or something for the wedge effect.?.If needed.Also going to try some of the soft loops with that one im pretty sure. Might wind up back at the mono block ,but curious if the loops will have a tad of shift,in a good way.for when you move or bend just so.?.going to try it out and then I’ll know. Said I was going to comment above, I have to run for now.school bus is coming . Questions answered,7 sub on little 365 xl. I’m going to wait on that. Possibly a laser.CT .???. Or something very small. MAYBE.?.& optic,I only have 1 gun with a cut for one,I dk yet. HolloSun has 1 model that sits real low.LEM /Solar model.but it’s auto dim/bright and other things i dont want. & probably $$$$. Going to look into it but its something I might try. Like it on a rifle. Never tried it on a handgun. Have had a CT grip on a J frame. It lit up the whole room and I used it to scan the yard now & then when I heard something around my chickens or shed or something. Hit where it was aimed but flashligh like. In some ways. The pocket lights. I have the smaller stream light .that & a few other knives (things with pocket clips)that are currently MIA. Ill find them probably.Im trying to downsize a little and may have to diy it some more but think a ring on a light is a good thing. Dk if they are made for the skinny ones though. I can figure it out. & a leather pocket organizer is more than likely going to be in the picture. Stop loosing stuff. Also diy project. Watch the smal print on everything!restock fees,postage ect. & ppl want to sell all kinds of stuff. The best stuff from the best companies won’t have the small print & fees . They have good stuff you’ll want to keep. Found that out tje hard way a cpl times. Just some personal thoughts and experiences.thx again for sharing & Take care.

@@RedRiverProductions cool deal. I shop holsters too much really. Trying to avoid the box of duds people are always talking about. I’m just recently getting the hang of IWB being bearable. The smallest design pro or con can make or break a holster. OWB or IWB .OWB will always be more comfortable .and shopping on line ,without being able to hold something for a close look & maybe even a quick try on,its hard. The leather thing came to me when I tried a pretty inexpensive ($23 & it had a $12 ulti clip that I knew I could use for something else if the holster didn’t work out for some reason,which it didn’t. The design concept was pretty darn good.But,the gun mold was either the wrong one or it was a homemade wooden gun or something.?.?it had pic rail molded into it and the sig 365 line has that proprietary rail mess that’s kinda ridiculous. These days there are a couple expensive aftermarket grip modules that have pic rails & there’s the one company that came out with a pic rail modification that screwed onto the proprietary sig rail .but that wasn’t even a thing yet at the time I bought the outbags holster .that and a few other observations about their website is what led me to believe that were cutting some major corners to sell some holsters. The kydex market is SATURATED to say the least. the one holster, from a company out of California,”OUTBAGS”had out of 2 that were particularly interesting designs. The one that I really wanted to try was available for the original 3.1”barrel 365 but not for the then brand new 3.7” barrel XL version so I went with the 2nd choice. It had something I’ve never seen before or since. They called it the “comfort tab”that was a good idea IMHO. The major problem with the holster was that the piece of kydex that was used to make the holster I got was a leftover piece from another project. It was a hair too small and the gun could rock out of position and be a safety issue. That’s not good at all & I was just beginning to really try to transition to striker fired guns ,from hammer fired guns + IWB+kydex.rational thought or not,having a firing pin with a spring under tension in your pants,or even around in the area was something I was going through at the time. I have studied the mechanisms some & with the right holster im okay with it now. Side note,Ernest Langley,working with Beretta on some things right now.a gun I’ve been looking at for a long while now is trying to breathe some new life in this pistol design that never really took off . It is not new and been around for 20+ years,responded to a question I asked him the other day. Glock related. That period of trying to get used to the striker guns…I was not alone. He is the one that invented the replacement backplate for glocks that you can thumb while reholstering,. I haven’t looked it up yet but there’s different types of striker fired guns. Or mechanisms .. I thought that spring was fully under tension or not. Nothing in between. might want to read up on it. Apparently..glocks have asimi “cocked”system. Dk if it’s only glocks or?? Sorry about the tangents. The holsters .every little thing matters. & it’s even more complicated because every body is a little different. The devils in the details. There are a bunch of makers but very few do it right. There’s some older leather designs that some makers are reproducing & sticking to the original designs. They are some of the ones to look at. The holster you bought, I can tell you are underwhelmed with it. They are proud of them. It’s asking alot of any iwb holster to be good to you with the light & extra mag ect. You are figuring it out though. Every body is. When you find something you like,sometimes you can stick with it. Try the leather & leave it big trim,wear another week,trim more if needed ect. Every bit helps. Look at R grizzle leather works in GA..the GS2 is the one I’m looking at. M/H ride. Check out outbags. But just to look for now. At the comfort tab. A little extra length on top of the slide might slow down reholstering but you don’t really need speed for that. Desantis mini scabbard is thin stiff leather. That might be a owb u You would like. You need multiple holsters for the same gun. I do anyway. Slim guns like yours are doable without being uncomfortable. Keep an open mind. & don’t be afraid to alter a holster. Some of the best i have are nice veg tan $100+ i got from the bargin bin and made a government 45 colt fit a smaller gun. Sew the cant to your liking. Trial & error. . Enough for now. Have a nice weekend
